Massive update! Thanks for 300 upvotes! —Dec. 29, 2016

Thanks you very much guyz for all your support and patience! I know I have not been that much active, and I will try to move things around!

I see we still miss a Yidris list in the description, so I will put NarejED one for now, as I know he has a good one, and if you guyz know a better one, please tell me so I can change it!!!

This Tazri deck was the one linked in the comments initially. Food Chain Tazri It's similar but different. Haven't compared too much to see which is better yet.

HarroHunter - The only real difference between ShaperSavant's list and tw0handt0uch's list is that ShaperSavant goes all-in on Food Chain while tw0handt0uch has some backup infinite combos, like Bomberman (Auriok Salvagers+Lion's Eye Diamond) and combos based around Freed from the Real/I Am Superman. The logic behind going all-in on Food Chain is that you can just use Riftsweeper to get Food Chain back if it gets exiled or Timetwister if it's destroyed. The logic behind having other backup win conditions is that if you're unable to get Food Chain back for some reason (maybe Riftsweeper has been exiled or something), you can still win by infinitely pumping allies with Tazri's activated ability once you have infinite mana of every color (I don't know why he doesn't run Chasm Guide/Reckless Bushwhacker+Ondu Champion/Seascape Aerialist/Firemantle Mage to give Haste and evasion to these allies for this backup wincon, but whatever).

It's hard to say which is more consistent. Having additional wincons is nice, but ShaperSavant's list is more streamlined. After seeing both lists, I'm inclined to go with ShaperSavant's.

I'm voting for tw0handt0uch's. It seems entirely more reasonable.

I noticed that while Child of Alara is listed as tier two it is not mentioned among the tier two decklists. I have heard much chatter about so-called "unbeatable" MLD child decklists and would be interested in seeing if you could find a list for her (or at least mention "list needed").

Thanks for the update!!!

Regarding the decklist for General Tazri: I believe Shapersavant's Food Chain Tazri remains the most up-to-date and optimized Tazri build. The original one ran a number of sub-optimial cards like Zur the Enchanter, Freed from the Real, and Trinket Mage. It was also missing some notable cards that are critical to the deck strategy like Demonic Consultation, Extract, and Manipulate Fate. His is the more logical list.

Also, it seems the deck list for Prime Speaker Zegana was never added. Here is a link to it

I would argue that Melira, Sylvok Outcast does belong in tier 4 rather than 5, since there are a couple of combos with her and persist creatures like Woodfall Primus that are truly devastating if you have a sacrafice outlet and not that hard to fire off. Melira is by no means consistantly broken or the best choice for a mono green deck, but I have seen lists that are fairly competetive. I just think that it is unfair to give her the same grade as Axelrod Gunnarson, because she is a key card in many combos you can assemble fairly quick with all the creature tutors green has.

Yes that does make sense, I will add her to my list of commanders to move in the next update. Thanks for this!

I don't know about Melira. There are a grand total of... two persist creatures in green, one of which is Aerie Ouphes. Now, since you said the combo is able to be assembled with green's creature tutors, we should be able to get all the pieces, right? However, since all of green's tutors are for creatures and lands, the sac outlet has to be one of them (in order to be tutorable). How many repeatable creature sac outlets are there? Zero.

So, there are 2 "combo pieces" that can be tutored (both of which are quite expensive), and a critical part of the combo (the sac outlet) is completely non-tutorable. As you can't do anything without the sac outlet, the combo relies entirely on hoping to randomly draw it. I don't think Melira is good enough.

Ohthenoises says... #13

You could focus less on sac outlets and run a critical mass of stuff like Eldritch Evolution and Natural Order along with a critical mass of stuff like Blasting Station, Ashnods/phyrexian altar, etc.

You'd end up playing a more value game.

I agree with Leinahtan that her combo potential is meh given her color restrictions. I see Melira, Sylvok Outcasts primary utility as being a 2cc creature. As Ohthenoises pointed out being able to Natural Order, Birthing Pod, and/or Eldritch Evolution her into something useful multiple times a game makes her significantly better than a vanilla 5 or 6 drop commander.

Should we have a Tier 0 slot for Zur and Jeleva, or is that just unnecessary?

August 10, 2016 9:38 p.m.

NarejED says... #16

No. They're not noticeably stronger than any other commander in Tier 1. I wouldn't even put Jeleva as the second best deck. Top five for sure, but Karador and Prossh are both contenders.

August 10, 2016 9:50 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #17

I'd probably disagree on that. If Karador or Prossh completely fizzle and are stuck with no gas in hand, all they can do is hope to hit a top deck or just attack in. Jeleva in the same situation is just 100% better.

I think their strength as combo decks is pretty similar but on the chance they get smoked by the table and have nothing to do, well, Jeleva has a very big advantage.

August 10, 2016 10:03 p.m.

NarejED says... #18

Karador's creature graveyard is his hand, and the deck is over 35% creatures. Prossh provides exceptional utility outside of his FC combo.

Jeleva is kind of trash even as a backup. Grixis storm is just an utterly amazing deck and Jeleva happens to be the best commander currently available to it. There's a real risk of fizzling with her ability, or worse, exiling Lab Man. Jeleva offers no advantage in comparison to the other two commanders I mentioned. Better deck, far, far, FAR worse commander.

pokejerk20 says... #20

kyuuri117 No that's very wrong.

August 11, 2016 9:10 a.m.

Lilbrudder says... #21

Lets not be intentionnaly obtuse people...I kind of think it is implied that part of "getting smoked by the table" is exiling Karadors graveyard. Killing his graveyard is pretty much the easiest way to neutralize him and his combos. So yes in that scenario Jevela is clearly better since she can generate card advantage on her own. Is she a better commander no, but she recovers from an empty "hand" better than Prossh and Karador

Dredge4life says... #22

If Grixis Storm hasn't won and is out of cards in hand, Jeleva really isn't going to help much either way.

August 11, 2016 11:03 a.m.

pokejerk20 says... #23

Jeleva is pretty good, but I don't think she's tier 1 material. I think she needs to be tier 2.

August 11, 2016 11:04 a.m.

Lilbrudder says... #24

Jevela is barely a tier 3 commander if built around. She is just a placeholder for grixis storm on this list which is a tier 1 strategy. Odds are pretty good if you get in top deck mode on turn 4 or 5 with any commander you will lose. However, In CEDH there is a decent chance her ability can exile any number of cards that can restart her deck. Cards like Timetwister, Regrowth, Wheel of Fortune, Windfall or even Reanimate can do the trick. Moreover with 3 opponents you will likely get a tutor or something useful from someone with between 16 to 24 cards to choose from.

Nobody can afford Timetwister.
