Update 4: Fine Tuning —March 6, 2021

Yep, the deck works and is pretty fun to play. Just two little changes.

Added

  • Nullmage Shepherd - Can confirm: This deck ends up with a lot of elves. Adding this guy back to help deal with pesky artifacts and enchantments.
  • Overrun - Replacing Scale Up as another way to pump up my elf swarm for a big swing.

Removed

  • Rhys the Exiled - Lifegain isn't a theme I'm going for in this deck and being able to regenerate only himself is underwhelming. Replacing with something more impactful.
  • Scale Up - Because this changes the creature type as well, it negates any buffs from my Elf Lords. Swapping it!

Thanks multimedia! Everything you're saying makes sense about Immaculate Magistrate , Timberwatch Elf , Birchlore Rangers and Nullmage Shepherd , I just struggled to find room in the deck to keep them. Their effects all feel a bit conditional based on having a lot of elves on the field, at which point I'm already doing well and ready to swing in for big beats so they almost feel like win-more cards. I'm going to keep them in mind though, if I can find things that aren't performing as well that I want to take out.

Smart thinking on your tutor and Elves of Deep Shadow suggestions. Adding them!

Hey, you're welcome, nice update. I know the feeling with trying to find enough room. I just made changes to my version adding more evasion for Lathril and it was hard to cut Elves for it. Scale Up is an interesting card choice.

Heh, I like Scale Up as a potential finisher where the Overload cost can make a wide elf swarm mightier for a lethal attack. Or cast it for to pump Lathril and generate even more Elf tokens.

Though I'm realizing just now that because Scale Up changes the creature type as well, that will remove any buffs from my Elf Lords. Hm. Probably something I should keep my eye on during play and see if I'm better off running Overrun instead.

What’s the competitive rating on this build?

By the ratings, it's pretty casual Stienpin. A mere 23% Competitive.

Hi, Nice deck! I would give Nullmage Shepherd a try, it did wonders for me because it is repeatable with untappers, it is not fun to play against cards like Ghostly Prison , Propaganda , etc. with your Elf army if Lathril isn't there to tap them.

Thanks Romer, I’m just planning my own build, my group can be quite competitive on occasion so looking for inspiration.
