Could this deck be better with a better commander? Yes.

Would it have the aristocratic flair of a truly petty insect wizard diva? No.

The inspiration for this deck was Modern Jund Bees.

Fun Combos

• Orb of Dreams + Amulet of Vigor is a mean tax combo that slows everyone down except you. Useful to get going, and a way to be petty and bitchy, which Lady Arien is all about!
• Blasphemous Act + Hornet Nest + Impact Tremors : the classic. Purphoros, Panharmonicon, Star of Extinction, and Saber Ants add some variation to this combo, but the result is the same—nuke the board, get a bunch of bugs, burn a bunch through ETB triggers.
• Hell's Caretaker + Hornet Queen plus any of the above ETB burn effects is lol. Rotate the queen with something like Eternal Witness, Blood Artist, or Rakdos Firewheeler for extra fun.
• Blood Artist plus any mass board wipe like Blasphemous Act or Star of Extinction is funny, especially if you have something like Moldervine Reclamation out to heavily capitalize on all the death.
• Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest + Phyrexian Altar + anything to sacrifice. Buff a board so big that you might even be able to live a Star of Extinction!
• Blackblade Reforged + Inkmoth Nexus is a surprisingly effective, albeit mana-costly way to kill someone. They'll never see it coming, though.
• Tap a bunch of tokens to convoke a Chord of Calling + Emrakul, the Promised End . You can even give her a sword if you want.
• Since this is a fairly creature-focused deck, Worldly Tutor does a lot of lifting.
• Crop Rotation into a Bojuka Bog. Lol.
• Endless Cockroaches + Sneak Attack + Phyrexian Altar + either Blood Artist or Impact Tremors. That's an infinite combo, babey (and was totally an accident, I had this combo lurking there for years and never recognized it lol)!
