Hello, and welcome back to “Cooking with Kruphix”, and I am your Kitchen Commander and host with the most (mana) Kruphix, God of Horizons. You all know I love to cook it up. And today I will be showing you how to make an easy, wonderful stew that will be sure to ramp up even the most difficult appetites and won’t break the bank!

The secret to any great stew is the broth or gravy, it permeates the entire dish and is what allows the flavors from all of the other ingredients to work together. In this stew, we will be using the Ramp method to super saturate the gravy with wonderful mana umami. You have to pull ingredients from multiple sources to ensure the broth is complex, rich, and complements the other elements of the dish. Once I am in the kitchen, I don’t let any of the wonderful mana go to waste, we can always save those mana scrapes to use later!

I always recommend dividing the ingredients among mana creatures (Oh, I do love Ilysian Caryatid and Karametra's Acolyte), land diving, and land enchantment (I’m looking at you Market Festival. The mana creatures need to be able to do a variety of things, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove brings out extra land flavor along with Retreat to Coralhelm + Sakura-Tribe Scout . Additionally, Seedborn Muse is a special ingredient that keeps that mana flavor popping with every bite. I compliment the creature elements with less subtle land draw like Cultivate, Journey to Discovery, and Rampant Growth with just a sprinkle of land enhancement with Market Festival.

Once you get a few of your ingredients for the broth in the both and stewing, bringing out that wonderful mana aroma, you have to start adding the veggies that will marinate with the broth to make the whole dish work. I use the typical Drawing and Card advantage ingredients that will complement the other ingredients keep brining those extra flavors to the forefront. Just like the broth, you want to have a variety of ingredients, personally, I split these between big X type card drawing (Gadwick, the Wizened, Ugin's Insight, Blue Sun's Zenith) with more low cost easy to use ingredients like Divination, Foresee, Treasure Cruise, and Curse of Verbosity. I keep the veggies heavy in this dish by adding a flair of spicy & flavorful Tutoring and Free Plays. My favorite additions are Yisan, the Wanderer Bard, especially, if you add it early, along with Arbiter of the Ideal, and Unexpected Results.

Sometimes, the stew doesn’t come together quite the way to want, other chefs try to mess with your recipe, or it’s just taking too long to really meld all of the ingredients, that’s where the spice comes in! Peppering your stew with some dense spices like Control will help meld the ingredients and provide the time for everything to come together. Again, variety is king here. Roil Elemental will make it feel like you added extra ingredients with almost no effort, Cyclonic Rift, Curse of the Swine, and Polymorphist's Jest will prevent any unpleasant aromas from forming and keep other dishes at the table from overwhelming the stew (Especially fun for those big family gatherings where second Cousin Karen always brags about her Esper pie). But don’t forget the good ole’ stand-by spices, Counterspell, Dissipate, Dissolve, and Rewind.

All of these elements, along with the broth, are meant for one thing, THE MEAT! The meat needs to shine as the star of this dish, with all of these supporting characters here to make sure they are at the forefront of taste! With such a rich broth, you need BIG CREATURES to make that flavor shine! Avenger of Zendikar just keeps making the flavor bigger and bigger, as does Hydra Broodmaster. These are accompanied by a variety of other meaty offerings such as Genesis Hydra, Heroes' Bane, Shipbreaker Kraken, and Tromokratis. And while I am not a fan of using extracts, Biomass Mutation is sure to make that flavor POP.

Finally, the garnish, elements that do their own thing, with each lending a special something to the dish. Sprinkle these into the pot along the way and let them simmer and do their thing! Archetype of Endurance, Elite Arcanist, Curse of Bounty, and two absolute MVPs, Hidden Strings and Mirage Mirror.

Together, these ingredients can come together in no time to create a wonderfully rich experience that you will definitely enjoy cooking! Some other chefs may not appreciate you outshining them, but you can’t put a lid on great flavor!

Well, that is all the time we have for today. Thank you for playing Chef with me today as we whipped up one more fun meal. I am your Kitchen Commander Chef Kruphix, God of Horizons, reminding you that the mana is everything.
