Planeswalker (2)

Behold! This right here is my discard deck in the making, with a side of control. I have found this as one of my recent favorite decks to playtest, as I work towards creating this masterpiece in my playgroup. It does still need thorough playtesting, but from what I have tested it feels terrifying to play against.

Honestly, this deck mainly started as a discard deck. One made to provide constant discarding in a multiplayer setting of 3+ players. and . As I playtested, I realized that Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger and Lurrus of the Dream-Den felt really nice to play, and I wanted to expand off it. Finding Lazav, the Multifarious and realizing that he could copy Kroxa, giving me the ability to have a 6/6 as early as turn 4 for only 2 mana (4 if you count playing Lazav) felt ridiculous, and I loved it. I decided to start digging, looking for cards that could synergize well with the three above. Slowly I added , and felt early on that having the big beefy cards in the side-board to pull with Fae of Wishes would help me set up my late game while controlling my opponent's hands. Once I peered into , I realized I would definitely need some card draw. That, led me to Priest of Forgotten Gods . Being able to play Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger and sacrifice him before he sacrifices himself, made me see he had some synergy with our priest. From there, I started finding more 2 drops, and cards that could easily help me get those back. After all, I didn't want to keep Kroxa's hunger waiting.

Blood on the Snow seemed too good to pass up. If someone killed my Lurrus of the Dream-Den , my combo was dead. Being able to not only wipe the field but bring her back was essential. With new additions such as Dauthi Voidwalker she has become even more important to save.

Liliana, Waker of the Dead and Kaya the Inexorable felt like a perfect match for this deck. Getting either emblem off feels strong, and given the more control feel of the deck felt appropriate. Especially with the many low cost creatures that we can safely discard, and setting up easy sacrifices for our Priest of Forgotten Gods .

Valki, God of Lies   not only is strong early game, but he can come back later as a power house of a planeswalker. Don't be afraid to play him early either. He can give us insight on who to target with our Thought Erasure and bring him back later with Dark Intimations and possibly with our Athreos, God of Passage too.

Dark Intimations gives us a double hit to our opponent, and a double bonus for us. We get to bring back our Fae of Wishes and Valki, God of Lies   easily with this. Letting us fish in our side board some more, or play Valki for his planeswalker side later on.

Midnight Clock I always try to put some sort of graveyard shuffling into my decks, and this card felt worth it. It's relatively cheap, and we can potentially fire off multiple a game if it goes long enough or we can get Kaya the Inexorable 's emblem off.

Ashiok, Nightmare Muse was a touch I didn't know this deck needed. Yea, he doesn't have an emblem like Liliana or Kaya, but he feels insanely strong on his own. Being able to have the potential to play 3 cards for free can be a complete game changer, especially when coupled with Dauthi to help put cards into exile for us.

Dauthi Voidwalker Gives us an insane amount of pressure early on, and coupled with Lurrus of the Dream-Den can give us insane value once we can get him to stick. Not only value, but helping in setting up some great card pulls with Ashiok.

There were some cards I really wanted to work, but felt like they slowed me down more than helped me. Granted, their amazing cards, but often felt dead in hand or on board.

Waste Not felt amazing until turn 5, when my opponents either played everything already, or had no cards to discard. After that, I realized it was just a dead card.

Quest for the Nihil Stone was great when I could pop off, but felt inconsistent. Sometimes you draw it too late, and now you are stuck waiting on someone to keep a card so you can make them discard.

Vicious Rumors was hard to remove, but I felt that by having the consistent Kroxa engine with Lurrus and Lazav, made this feel obsolete. Good 1 cost, but it can't be replayed easily.

Prized Amalgam I loved the effect, but it oftentimes came too late for me. Not only that, but most of the time I had better plays to make

Overall, I feel this deck is strong. From what I have playtested so far, despite having 4 colors it holds its own quite well. However, I know I am not the perfect deck builder, and any feedback would help :). Especially if I missed a card, or synergy that I could use.
