Removed Stronghold Assassin

Added Blade of the Bloodchief

Stronghold assassin has always been the weakest link in terms of sac. Blade can get me more value with extra counters.

Suggestion Animation Module Because its feeds korvold each turn by its self for a mana and if u have a alter out you can draw your hole deck

Rather surprised I don’t see the Shattergang Brothers in here as one of you sac outlets.

redsteel, Animation Module is genius and I will be adding it in as soon as I get my hands on one. Even without a combo, it still is a great feeder.

KayneMarco, Believe it or not, this deck was a Shattergang Brothers deck once upon a time. It was a bit slower and more control focused. After he got unseated by Prossh, Skyraider of Kher , I ended up swapping him out for faster/free outlets such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician , Attrition , and Ashnod's Altar . In comparison to cards like these, I would never bother paying the mana for sacs when I could do similar things for less.

Stronghold Assassin seems really weak? Like you have to untap with it, which probably won't happen. I'd highly suggest Bontu the Glorified . Oof, Scheming Symmetry ? I think I'd rather run Vampiric Tutor it can also replace Wishclaw Talisman It seems like you're giving the combo players too many tools in competitive.

hey - nice deck. so where do you stand with this deck now? (I couldn't tell when you wrote your playtesting note - it sounds like it's not as competitive/viable as you were hoping?) I ask b/c I'm starting to investigate Korvold and i noticed that this deck is similar to how the command zone built out their additions, and i liked the philosophy behind it... but if it's not playing out that way in practice, that's interesting for sure. thanks!

grievances, I'm starting to accept the deck as it is at the moment. It's definitely not bad in in a casual to high power meta. Definitely not on par with competitive though. cEDH was not my intention for this deck, but it's still what I have to deal with at my local game store. This is why I keep the hate pieces like Collector Ouphe and Red Elemental Blast in.

That being said, I'm a firm believer that this aristocrats strategy can be built competitively. Throw in Food Chain, Squee, the Immortal, some other combo pieces, and all the best tutors you can find. Korvold is great a digging through your deck to get all the combo pieces you need.

If anything, I need to iron out the win con for the deck. Easiest seems to be commander damage, but it seems like a weak strategy given the limited amount of protection for Korvold I have in the deck. I am still investigating this.
