Notes on Inspiration Show

Let's be honest here, Black has been getting some AMAZING cards lately, and the best part is all of them have fantastic synergy. Example combo: Yawgmoth, Thran Physician + Syr Konrad, the Grim + Bloodghast makes for a fun ping each turn.

Fact of the matter is, we have gotten a crazy fun Black Legend 3 sets in a row (Core2020 aside,) with the aforementioned 2, and the flat-out silly Son of Yawgmoth , who I maintain will be seen in the future as one of the most busted things to have come out this year.

This deck is intended to build around the Konrad - K'rrik - Tortured Existence combo, giving Syr Konrad lifelink via a number of ways for an instant death combo to all opponents. But there are a lot of things we can do with the father , son , and Dark Knight . The amount of sheer looping potential in those 3 cards is bound to inspire a lot of fun builds with any of them as Commander, and I can't wait to see what the community comes up with.

Additional Notes Show

• Sheoldred and Vilis, Broker of Blood are two other cards that have a ton of synergy with the themes in this deck. If you can get all 5 of those big baddies on field, or even a combo of some of them, you can create an awesome engine. Being able to block with Vilis because you know you can get him back with Sheoldred is such a good feeling
• Currently, I am looking for more ways to get rid of what I assume to be this deck's biggest weakness, namely cards such as Leyline of the Void . This deck wants cards to flow carefree back and forth between the graveyard and battlefield, and exiling can really hurt that.
• The other thing I am looking for is more good creatures. I have enough manramp that I would be willing to cut down on the lands to make room, but at the moment I don't even have a complete deck. I feel like a few cards are more filler types because I lack anything better, but I would love some good ideas on more creatures to pad out my arsenal and provide steady interaction on the way to my endgoal. Ideally, they will synergize with Konrad , but if they are good on the level of Phyrexian Obliterator or something, that really isn't necessary.
• This deck can pull out wins FAST. Personally, I feel EDH is a format more about having fun and being creative than winning every time. So if this build isn't for you, I totally understand that! I more or less want to see what could be done if we push this to the limit.
• The above point being said, I am under no illusions that this deck, when complete, will be a perfect build. I would love to hear your ideas and advice to help make this much better than I could on my own!
