This modern deck has all the classic things we love about black: hand destruction, graveyard shenanigans, life gaining, card drawing, and cool undead artwork! Cool artwork is key.

I've tried to keep costs reasonable, both money and mana. The goal is to win with one of the big end-game stomper creatures. There is also an element of sacrificing creatures for powerful effects, then bringing them back! For me, the whole deck has kind of a "necromancer" or "dark sorcerer" theme.

If Rune-Scarred Demon is too expensive, just swap it out for any other big, scary, end-game demon.
