Maybeboard

This is my sea themed commander deck that's inspired by the Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 deck Ancient Depths. It features the planeswalker card Kiora, the Crashing Wave as its commander. Houserules apply to the choice of general as planewalkers aren't officially permitted. The brew is fairly budget friendly with only a few expensive cards that are helpful, but not crucial to the strategy. The decks' strenght lies in the high consistensy and efficent curve of ramp spells, multiple at costs 1 aand 2 to skip turn 3 and go straight to commander or other 4 costed ramp. Coupled with card draw of the commander and multiple other draw spells it usually goes very long without missing land drops. Capitalise on the huge mana advantage by playing high cost morphs, leviathans, bounce the table and play them all back immediately or create an army end of turn with flash [alchemists refuge] to grant semi-haste, dodge board wipes and have all your mana up all rounds. If you haven't played with flash granting cards in commander, you've been missing out!

Updated 11.6.2017

Removed the other planeswalkers, artifact and enchantment hate, a couple of problem cards that often stopped others form playing magic, and finally some old leviathans in favor of new monsters and a few spells.

The following may contain outdated information.

The deck operates on the basic strategy of ramping and drawing cards, then setting the pace with blue control cards and finally crush opponents with the leviathans. Most cards and their art reflect themes of the sea, vigorous expand of of nature, and synergise with the decks various themes like big things. The rest of the cards fill some basic commander deck needs along minor extra themes of seasome morphs to top the briny cocktail.

I have designed the deck for updated mulligan rules and the landcount is heavy (42) to sate the thirst of mana hungry cards and to compliment The Queen's second ability. This also allows us to play Exploration for consistent effect, and makes this absurd card favor us. (Great aurora removed, but recommended to try.) The card drawing power of the second ability also ensures that our hand keeps filled with spells despite the high land count. Fast acceleration coupled with repeated mass bounce and other tempo plays (Another removed problem card) is how the deck plans to take over games along the usual large blue spells. A ramp shell like this is the perfect place for Rite of Replication and other heavy costed haymakers blue has access to. I'm looking forward to include Expropriate!

Updates and more detailed card explanation may ensue. Suggestions to further strengthen the deck's themes and functionality are welcome. Feel obliged to upvote if you enjoy the design or just think commander needs more themes and houserules!
