Ah with each set comes fresh commanders. And with some sets come Great budget commanders. Killian really hits the mark in the budget category. This commander just screams budget. His ability reduces the cost of targeting spells by 2. This makes so many normally unusable cheap cards viable.

So the goal for this deck is to get Killian on the board and then start casting Aura's for cheap while casting removal spells for cheap to get damage through. Cards like Corpsehatch are usually not great but being able to get 2 eldrazi spawn and remove a creature for 3 mana is pretty good. Many of your auras and spells also become 1 mana cantrips when Killian is out, this helps with some of the lack of good budget card draw.

With cards like Archon of Sun's Grace and Sigil of the Empty Throne you can build an army off of all your casts. Toss down Mesa Enchantress and now all your enchantments refill your hand, those "Cantrip" Auras now being legitimate card draw. Mixing in a Grim Guardian can allow you to whittle opponents down for your Army to finish off.

Letter of Acceptance and Silverquill Campus are simply flavor wins but can also be useful for their back-up abilities. Having mana rocks you can toss aside for card draw can be Great later in the game when you have plenty of lands.

I think my favorite part about this deck is how easily it can be upgrade. Just get stronger auras, more consistent card draw, and improve the mana base and youll have a solid contender for most matches. This really takes me, once again, back to why I love these $10 budget decks. It can just really allow anyone to try out a commander or get a cheap deck to start with that, if they find they love the commander, they can upgrade very easily. I mean it doesn't take long before you have Command towers for every deck and even a few extra Sol Rings you can slot in. Here's to finding more budget beginners as time goes by, Cheers!
