I just brewed up this weird ass abomination in an insomnia-fueled frenzy and am kind of surprised how well it came together on both a functional and thematic level.

This grindy deck has 3 stages: Non Eldrazi Token Generation, Eldrazi Token Generation, and Eldrazi Generation. Each stage coalesces to form a metaphor for this hapless portside town's descension (or ascension depending on your point of view) into Eldritch horror-themed chaos.

You want to produce Humans and Crabs in the early game before saccing them to Extricator of Sin   (as well as his transformed counterpart, Extricator of Flesh) to have them ascend into Eldrazi Horrors. Fatestitcher is great for not only ramp but also for allowing you to use the transformed Extricator's effect twice in a single turn. While that's happening, you can search up one of your actual Eldrazi creatures from your sideboard depending on the situation. Emrakul, the Promised End is obviously your best finisher, but some of the other ones like Elder Deep-Fiend and Thought-Knot Seer have their uses, too.

It's actually cool how the two big Eldrazi crabs can get buffed by Scuttletide once you get Delirium off.

Westvale Abbey   is there to surprise your opponent with an indestructible hasty demon out of nowhere, and Archetype of Imagination is a finisher that makes all your tokens evasive.

If you're down to skimp out on groceries for a week, I highly suggest replacing Rootborn Defenses with Anointed Procession just cuz your token generation will dramatically improve and be able to at least keep up with your local store's meta.

I included Curate instead of Thought Scour because the deck cannot, unfortunately, afford to mill itself at random. I'm effectively trading mana efficiency for better card selection.

I realize Emrakul's Evangel would be perfect for this deck. However, I'm not experienced enough for tri-color deckbuilding, as I would have no idea how to balance the ratios of the mana base. If anyone has any suggestions on how to accomplish that, then I'm all ears.

So, the main star of this show is obviously Extricator of Sin  . I want to turn the spooky Ku Klux Klan man into the spooky Ku Klux Klan alien as fast as possible so I can just start churning out Eldrazi Horror after Eldrazi Horror. To do this effectively, I need to have a low enough mana curve and a factory of weenies to constantly sacrifice. This is where the idea of Abiding Grace and a toolbox of useful 1 mana creatures came to mind.

What separates this deck from other generic white token decks is the fact that I don't want puny 1/1 tokens that overrun my opponent through sheer numbers. That's too boring. Now, making medium-sized Eldrazi Horrors is where it's at. It lets me play a slower, mid-range style game that Im more comfortable with.

Also the Extricator is basically one of my favorite cards of all time and I've always wanted to try and make a deck based around him work. This one still needs fine-tuning cuz Im not actually sure how well it would do in a real competitive setting. Seeing the likes of Jund Death's Shadow decks and Izzet Spells starring Murktide Regent makes me feel like this deck isn't fast enough to do what it wants before it gets utterly obliterated in a matter of seconds.

1.Alseid of Life's Bounty can protect key creatures like my extricators as well as key enchantments like Abiding Grace and Cathars' Crusade

2.Hanweir Militia Captain   provides my Extricators with plenty sacrificial fodder for the Extricator slaughterhouse.

3.Hard Evidence gives me a cute little crab. I chose it over Thraben Inspector precisely because the card is a sorcery, so it helps fuel delirium. It's also the last vestige of my original crab sub-theme.

4.Inquisitive Puppet can exile himself and spawn a little human in order to dodge removal.

5.Lunarch Veteran   is a self-recurring body that gives me extra life to stabilize against aggro decks.

6.Kami of False Hope acts as a fog to protect me from combat damage

7.The Birth of Meletis gives me a wall to sac in its second chapter.

1.Gavony Dawnguard will hopefully grab one of my key creatures with each day/night cycle. Considering I run a lot of creatures with 3 cmc or less, I hopefully won't be missing all that often.

2.Faithful Mending may be a minus in straight hand advantage, but it helps sift through my deck, fuel my grave for the Extricator's delirium requirements, and gains me two extra life in case I need it.

3.Hard Evidence provides a clue token for me to sac later in case I need the extra draw

4.Inquisitive Puppet scries upon hitting the field

5.The Birth of Meletis grabs me an extra plains, guaranteeing a land drop for my next turn.

1.Cathars' Crusade permanently pumps my whole board any time anything hits the field, and with the amount of token generation and recursion I got going on, this won't be an issue at all.

2.Hanweir Militia Captain   can become very large on his own into the mid-to-late game after I've made my horde of eldrazi horrors.

3.Westvale Abbey   is probably one of my favorite lands for the sheer fact that it straight-up turns into a big ass Demon if I have enough dudes to sacrifice. Given the sheer amount of bodies I'll be making, this won't be too much of a hassle to transform and push with for game.

4.Wonder gives all my dudes flying as long as its in the graveyard. Great fodder for Faithful Mending while giving my army of Eldrazi Horrors evasion

1.Fateful Absence is perfect targeted removal against Planeswalkers and Creatures for white. However, I'm thinking I might actually switch to Path to Exile depending on how much mana I need to keep up for the Extricator's activated ability during a given turn.

2.Mana Leak is good, but I might straight-up replace it with Counterspell. Though, the generic pip makes it way more flexible

Soooooo, one of the major problems I had with this deck was trying to cram too much stuff in such a tight space. The deck was trying to do too many things at once with no real way to truly get started, especially considering that Modern is such a fast format from the research I've done.

As such, I tried streamlining the main focus of the deck to just getting to Extricator of Flesh  Flip online as fast as possible. The flickering stuff just kinda took away from that, especially since flickering the Extricator would simply bring him back to his Extricator of Sin  Flip side. The problem is that I want to give my Eldrazi Tokens vigilance, and I'd rather have The Extricator's sac effect stem from continuously tapping him.

I also took out the Coax from the Blind Eternities strategy because, again, it took up too much space in both the main and sideboard. In addition, it just wasn't mana efficient and often contradicted what the Extricator wanted to do most of the time. Besides, if I'm not wishing for the huge and expensive Eldrazi Outer Gods, then I'm really just half-assing things.

Some changes I made include adding in Lunarch Veteran  Flip, Abiding Grace, Wonder, Fateful Absence, Faithful Mending, The Birth of Meletis, Gavony Dawnguard, and Alseid of Life's Bounty. All of these cards are able to either fuel my grave to activate the Extricator's Delirium trigger, provide card advantage, provide recursion, provide prtection, or provide lifegain.

Alseid, along with Inquisitive Puppet, are noteworthy for counting as two different card types at once (artifact creature and enchantment creature) for the Extricator's Delirium requirements.
