• You don't want your deck to be focused on having your commander out
• You want play magic
• You don't mind longer, grindy games

The Primer

What We're Trying To Do

This deck aims to control the game through counterspells and removal while setting up a Worldgorger Dragon combo.

The Combo Show

1.) Cast Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead targeting Worldgorger Dragon.
2.) Worldgorger enters, with the trigger on the stack, float all your mana.
3.) Worldgorger trigger resolves, exiling reanimation effect. 4.) Since reanimation effect is no longer in play, Worldgorger dies, bringing back all the exiled cards,including lands and your reanimation effect.
5.) Target Worlgorger Dragon with reanimation effect.
7.) Infinite combo!
Winning: With Infinite Flicker+Gravestorm+Mana, you can with through:

• Quicken + Bitter Ordeal
• card:Expansion/Explosion, find your other cards
• Laboratory Maniac + some way to deck yourself
• Comet Storm for lethal
• Sunscorched Desert flickered infinite times for lethal
• Blue Sun's Zenith your opponents out of the game!
Demonic Consultation + Laboratory Maniac win.

Strengths

This deck is highly interactive and can stop a lot of combos. Being able to recast tutors with Kess is highly valuable.

Weaknesses

This deck only has 2 boardwipes, making it difficult to deal with 75% or creature-heavy metas.
The combo itself has some problems as well:

• If the LTB triggers before the ETB, all your permanents are exiled. Therefore, a well-timed Krosan Grip , Abrupt Decay , or other removal spell can result in you losing all your permanents
• If you can't break the loop by winning, killing Worldgorger Dragon , or removing Animate Dead , the loop continues infinitely, turning the game into a draw. (Don't concede)

Notable Inclusions

Cursed Totem : It's a solid card, but if your meta isn't creature heavy, don't bother.
Faerie Macabre : Can stop some Hulk decks . Really a meta choice.

Notable Exclusions

Unsubstantiate : I feel like this card got edged out by Narset's Reversal , it's fine but not great. Narset's Reversal 's copy effect is much better, I feel as though I am rarely bouncing a creature.
Winds of Rebuke . While a popular card in Kess decks, you REALLY don;t want to mill one of your reanimation effects, since you only have 2 and no Timetwister s.
Timetwister : Its expensive. If you're going to put this in, DON'T take out Windfall , Windfall can help put Worldgorger Dragon into your bin.
Praetor's Grasp : Only one Food Chain deck at my LGS, not really necessary.
