Introduction Show

I picked Kess because of how much value she brings to the graveyard. Her ability to recur any instance or sorcery makes her a great re-animator commander.

Win-cons Show

Packed into this deck is quite a few win-cons.

The first line of play is through our tutors. We need to get either Intuition or Buried Alive into our hand. From there we can go for one of our piles. With Intuition you will typically go for Laboratory Maniac + Demonic Consultation + Reanimate. Getting any of those into our hand will net us the win.

With Buried Alive you will go for Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Deceiver Exarch or Pestermite + Phyrexian Delver. You need to have one of our re-animators in hand Animate Dead, Dance of the Dead, Dread Return, Exhume, Necromancy, Reanimate, or Shallow Grave. You will also need at least 9 life, 8 of which is used to reanimate, or 14 life, 13 of which to pay if you use Reanimate.

If things go south you can use Splinter Twin on either Deceiver Exarch or Pestermite to make an army to wipe the board.

How to Play The Deck Show

In order to be fast you need to mulligan down till you have at least two lands and a tutor. Preferably you should have a mana rock, tutor, two lands, and a way to reanimate. That is all you need to go off. To facilitate that there are quite a few tutors Beseech the Queen, Dark Petition, Demonic Tutor, Merchant Scroll, Mystical Tutor, and Vampiric Tutor. With these tutors you will get either one of the reanimation spells listed above. If you have a way to reanimate in hand you will get either Buried Alive or Intuition.

Save your counters for defending yourself. There are quite a few counters and it's always best to have two of them. Here are the counters included Counterspell, Countersquall, Force of Will, Mana Drain, and Pact of Negation. Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast are there to deal with any counters your opponents may cast. Cyclonic Rift and Chaos Warp are good ways to spot remove a stax piece or if it's hate bears you got Damnation and Toxic Deluge.
