Round 4: Refocusing the deck. —July 17, 2018
I've come to realize that this deck only wins when I get a lot of profit off of Waste Not or play keep away long enough to win with a big X spell. So I'm cutting cards that won't help me with that strategy.
WHAT'S OUT
Rite of Replication I don't think I have cast this card once since putting it in the deck. It almost always just gets discarded to a wheel and never brought back.
Beacon of Unrest Something left over when I was considering the reanimator archetype. Another card that gets cast rarely.
Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh I love the card but at that CMC he needs to be winning the game for me and with so few creatures I just can't protect him.
WHAT'S IN
Comet Storm Another big X win condition. May be substituted for a different spell we'll see.
Past in Flames Partially because the new artwork is beautiful. Mostly because I need some redundancy in using all of my graveyard at once.
Snapcaster Mage I have been trying to get a snapcaster for years and I have finally managed to trade for one. He's simply too good not to use.
