This deck is all about controlling tempo and slowing Aggro decks down or locking out any deck by a turn 2 destruction of land or karn. Its a retooling of a deck i saw by konsrs - Karn Ponza with a few changes based on other gruul decks.

A bunch of mana dorks make up the creature base. A few late game threats make up the big creatures, bloodbraid elf to cascade into a bloodmoon or land destruction spell (hopefully)

I use pillage for lands and artifacts, and molten rain because the extra damage. I see most decks running stone rain, which i cant tell if thats just because its always been in ponza builds or what, i just see no upside to that.

Tireless tracker for card draw off of clues, because after playing with this deck it feels like you can get way ahead on lands but stall out with a lot of land and nothing to do.

The karn liquid metal coating seems practical but a lot of times i find myself needing something else from the sideboard. I think that as an usual aggro (affinity) player im still learning to control the tempo.

So far its 2 and 2 beat a BUG control and Vakulat deck. Lost to infect and humans. It was the first time i played at my LGS modern night in quite a bit. I definitely punted the humans game. Plan on testing some more, but i don't know if switching from the toolbox karn plan to just gruul land destruction would be more competitive and fit my personal play style a little better.

Any suggestions would be great!
