OVERVIEW

I really... REALLY hope you like second place.

This deck is FANTASTIC at doing what it does, but man, is winning entirely a struggle. Kardur is absolutely brilliant at goading everything, except he doesn't actually goad them. Kardur has MOSTLY goad written onto him, but with one key difference:

Everything that enters the field, no matter what, is affected until your next turn.

This allows you to survive REALLY easily until the game inevitably becomes a 1v1, because when that happens, the goad stops working, and your opponent is free to beat you up without issue. So while there are still people having a fist fight over there, it's YOUR job, to both keep them in check by beating them up while all of their creatures are tapped out, while also building up your own boardstate enough to be able to fight the last remaining opponent at the end of the game.

Also pointing out, I'm sure you can build around it more, but Kardur's second effect... doesn't come up that often. Like, you'd think it would, but based on experience, it kinda just doesn't, opponents tend to be smart enough to attack around it most of the time, I don't even get it. Long story short, in this deck in particular, don't rely on that too much, but if it happens, woo, free damage, free lifegain.

The MVP of the deck, I am definitely not kidding, not at all.

So here's an interesting interaction. When Kardur enters, he pseudo-goads everything until your next turn.

Until your next turn.

So... wait for a turn where you can both trigger Kardur's ETB, and cast Eater of Worlds, and then... you just skip your next two turns, and you get to watch the world burn, which is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS, NO I AM NEVER REMOVING THIS CARD.

Gisa, Glorious Resurrector

One of the best ways in the deck to build some kind of a board for yourself without actually having to dump resources into it. More importantly, it takes good things away from your opponents, so that THEY can't beat YOU up with them if their deck lets them recur stuff.

Erratic Portal

Don't pay the 1 mana to counter your own creature bounce. Just don't. Assuming you don't, this is a fantastic repeatable way to return Kardur to your hand so you can cast him again for the ETB.

Otherwise, this is actually okay removal if someone's not paying attention and spends all their mana for the rotation.

Bedlam

So, one issue this deck sort of has, is people being able to be smart about who they attack to minimize the damage they deal to people they don't want to deal damage to and so on, while also strategically playing creatures during Main Phase 2 so that they can keep up blockers, even if you toss out Mass Hysteria.

But Bedlam? Bedlam doesn't really care about "thinking", Bedlam make everyone go smash. AND they can't punch you if you keep your Kardur effect going, while allowing you to stab at people with absolutely no issue. Blocking is overrated, so may as well get rid of it.

Unironically kind of an MVP in this deck, Expedition Map is in here JUST to grab this card.

Essentially says "For 6 mana, Kardur trigger." which is not bad at all. It's even a land, so it's particularly hard to get rid of!
