Main Game Plan:

This deck wants to generate a bunch of mana to play a bunch of creatures, produce a bunch of tokens, and then close out the game by casting Craterhoof Behemoth and attacking. The deck is also able to grind out value into the late game with the help of bounce and recursion effects to get value out of ETB triggers.

Something that I often do is cast Tooth and Nail with kicker to get Avenger of Zendikar and Eternal Witness, using the Witness to return Tooth and Nail to my hand. On the following turn I cast Tooth and Nail again to get Craterhoof Behemoth and Temur Sabertooth. If Craterhoof isn't enough to finish the game, the Sabertooth can bounce it to hand to be recast, or bounce the Witness so that it can be recast to get back Tooth and Nail or another key card from the graveyard.

General notes when playing this deck:

  • Whitemane Lion is the MVP of any Karametra deck.

  • When you start getting lands off of Karametra's ability, grab Scattered Groves and Temple Garden first. After you have four lands that produce white, you generally want to just grab Forests until you run out. This is because Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is more powerful if you have lots of green mana, and because you want to save your Plains to get better value out of Emeria Shepherd. A possible exception to this is if you get Wild Pair out early, because you might get better value from returning a creature to your hand instead of the battlefield so that you can cast it and get Wild Pair's trigger.

  • This List would benefit from the inclusion of a Worldly Tutor and Tireless Tracker, I just don't have any to spare right now.

  • Investing in some fetch lands would also be beneficial if you are looking to go heavier on the landfall theme.

  • If you don't really need the mana, it's best to hold onto Selesnya Sanctuary as a guaranteed way to trigger landfall each turn. It's worth noting that Cloudstone Curio can also bounce lands, letting you bounce between two lands for another guaranteed way to trigger landfall on each of your turns. If you want to go harder on the landfall theme, this synergy is even stronger with the addition of cards like Exploration and Azusa, Lost but Seeking.

Playing with Wild Pair:

First thing to be aware of is that Wild Pair is a bit of a non-bo with Mirari's Wake. The Wake throws off the power+toughness counts and messes up most of the pre-planned combinations. You will still be able to get some value out of Wild Pair, like being able to grab Whitemane Lion off of a 1/1, but you definitely won't be able to use Wild Pair to its full potential.
