My Kaalia deck came to be right when I bought Heavenly Inferno, back in 2012. It is, if memory serves, my oldest Commander deck and my favorite one. Thing is, Kaalia can have many approaches and throughout the years I changed the deck so many times that it became a washed down version of what it was. Mainly because I tried to make it my most aggressive deck but then my playgroup started deciding that land destruction and infect were a bad thing for the group, leading to a less threatening deck.

Recently I stopped playing Magic, mainly due to the fact that my playgroup became too competitive and I can't keep up with that. So, after several months away from Magic I decided to revisit some of my decks and try to improve them a little bit. Not because I want to play it again any time soon but because the thought exercise is fun and part of what made me love the format so much.

So, I ended up 2 Kaalia lists. The one I have assembled right now (can be found herehttps://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/16-01-22-kaalia-v2/ and this one, much more aggressive, much closer to the philosophy behind my older lists. The idea is quite simple: Kaalia doesn't really need a full board state. She can live without mana, most of the time. Armageddon-like effects work extremely well, even without Avacyn in play. On top of that add Skithiryx and the world will end quickly.

Now all I'm missing is a Terror of the Peaks. But those are a bit pricey. Maybe in the future I'll get one.
