Sideboard

My Kaalia of the Vast deck focuses on using early game aggression and attrition to establish superior board presence and card advantage. Kaalia has a unique ability that allows us to get maximum value and utility out of our aggressive deck style.

Ideally, we want to slap down the lady as early as possible and begin to establish a mighty board of flying assholes. We have plenty of mana rocks and haste effects to assist with this plan. Once we can safely start swinging away, protecting Kaalia and whatever value she produced becomes the highest priority. Mass land destruction is one of the absolute best ways to achieve this. We also have Winter Orb . Dirty blue players can't set up the bounce house without their precious land. We can also slow our opponents with the few other tax effects in the deck such as Eidolon of Rhetoric or Ob Nixilis, Unshackled .

Sire Of Insanity is a great way to end any game very early. If you can tutor for it and have the means to swing, do it. Master of Cruelties from a Kaalia trigger literally murders one opponent. (Careful doing this to people. If they aren't as competitive they will really dislike these guys.)

Generally, I see combo decks as the biggest threat. Forcing yourself on them will leave you open to other aggro decks, but this is an acceptable trade. Kaalia has the advantage of being very toolboxy and can generally man-handle other aggro decks. Opponent going wide? Balefire Dragon . Opponent going Voltron? Angel of Serenity . Or any of BELOW:

Mardu colors offer some of the best removal/control options without using DISHONORABLE BLUE MANA. Much of the removal we have access to provides us with choices or small amounts of utility, such as Cataclysm , or Wear / Tear . White gives us a shit ton of exile effects for those pesky literally any target-able thing. Also, all them sweet land destruction spells. Black and red are really good at being a dick in general.

Updates Add

I was recently able to work on a couple decks, and Kaalia here is usually a priority for that sort of thing. I was able to pick up some more fetch lands to help with consistency. Belzenlock is an addition I haven't had the pleasure of playing yet. He seems like a good addition though.

I also was able to fit in a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben to strengthen my very minor stax package. Really, this is only a good thing. As a Kaalia player, you need to accept that the way you are going to win in any remotely competitive game is by being a real McAsshole. Slowing opponents and taxing their spells is a fantastic way to establish control of the game.

Also, Mastermind's Acquisition is a decent addition for any deck running Diabolic Tutor. The bonus board is a neat place to throw super situational bullshit that really can't fit in the deck. Grave hate is a great example. That, and maybe some redundancy you feel takes up too much space in the 99. Of course, my main reason for this addition was to fit Platinum Angel in my deck without watering it down.
