Ever wonder what Kaalia would look like if she existed during the days of InVasion and Urza block? Y'know, before Mirrodin came along and introduced us to hot equipments, and Ravnica plus Innistrad introduced us to saucy demons and dragons. Did you like the white border "ultimate starter" Kaalia I listed as the ideal starting point? Maybe you like the old face cards during the days of brown artifacts instead of silver. Perhaps you like all your card styles to match, or you don't want a deck to upgrade every single set. Or whatever your reason may be, I took on the challenge to see what an old school Kaalia would look like, partially because I already had the white border, but also partially because I wanted to see how far I could push things within the specified date range. This is up through 7ED, and up through Scourge.

Of note, I did not include the P3K cards because of their scarcity and any reprints wouldn't have the old face, so what's the point, y'know? I also chose to abstain from using new cards with old promo frames - like the Swords and judge promo Bob - because while you could technically claim them in a loophole, ethically it creates a questionable approach to the ideal of the time chosen.

This is the first iteration. I believe there's an Astral Slide deck in here somewhere, but I've been scribbling in my notebook for the past six hours and I just can't keep going back and forth over this anymore. So, while this took the approach of classic "prison" style Kaalia, I would not be opposed to exploring the Slide aspects at a later date. Perhaps you can brew that with me.

This deck is brewed to be as competitive as possible, so any constructive feedbacks are encouraged with that ideal in mind. And before you say it, I freakin' hate Mox Diamond. I don't like it, it never leads me to do well in extended games, and I place a much higher priority on card advantage than the speed this one moxen will give me.

Current combo finishes include: Worldgorger Dragon either ending the loop with an arbitrarily large amount of mana and a reanimated Shivan Hellkite, or you put that mana into a Fireball. Simple, cleanly kills the entire table at once. Pretty much all you want with this type of play.
