High Power Update #2 —April 13, 2019

Already did Update #1 without saying anything about it- but I basically took out some of the jankier cards (all of the top deck burn like Twilight Prophet, Baneful Omen, etc) for Mana Vault, Naru Meha/Ghostly Flicker, Demonic Tutor, and a few others. Currently proxying all of the OG Duals, as well.

This time thinking about switching out Banishing Stroke, Sun Titan, Vindicate, and Darksteel Mutation for The Chain Veil, Emeria Shepherd, Restoration Angel, and Pull from Eternity

Have you considered running the manifest tech in the deck? It will help you play those high cmc cards earlier. Mastery of the Unseen, Lightform and Cloudform are some of the cards I have in mind. Also, you seem to have missed Insidious Dreams and Vampiric Tutor. It's a pretty good way to get high cmc cards on top of your library. If the budget isn't tight, Jace TMS should be an autoinclude.

Hey @Megalomania! Thanks for the comment- those are great suggestions and definitely cards I have considered. I'm not exactly sure if manifest is a mechanic I'm looking for in the deck since this seems to be more instant/sorcery based rather than creature based, but I can certainly give it a try! Vampiric Tutor is absolutely one of my next purchases for the deck- it just hurts to spend $50 on a single card so I've been holding out (notice it's presence in the maybeboard). Same with Enlightened Tutor! Although $18 with Enlightened hurts a lot less haha.

Interesting note on Insidious Dreams- I used to run this card in a separate deck but stopped when the first time it got countered (those cards are discarded as an additional cost to casting it- so goodbye many cards if this gets countered!). I've thought about Liliana Vess as a current budget tutor to put cards on top (although the sorcery speed kinda hurts compared to Insidious Dreams' instant speed). Nonetheless, thanks so much for checking out the deck and making the suggestions! I will absolutely keep them in mind going forward.

Thanks!

Your explanation as to how terrible her ult is is true but in certain situations it could be very useful, plus using her -1 you would start getting your stuff back, especially if you held on to Felidar Guardian and Panharmonicon and played them after using her ult. Get back everything you own in one turn.

@KayneMarco - Thanks for the feedback! Absolutely agreed- I haven't had a chance to go back and edit this description after playing the deck for the past month. The ultimate has actually come in handy in one or two games and perhaps doesn't deserve as much scathing description as I give it. The way you put it absolutely makes sense so I'll make sure to edit the description soon to accommodate for this. Thank you!
