Just Another Sram Voltron Deck

Commander / EDH Artifact Mono-White Voltron

CamelinaBoat

Yo, this was the first homebrew deck that I built and ive progressively upgraded it over time. I think its pretty sick. The main focus is to leverage Sram's ability drawing cards, meaning I run all zero drop equipments in the deck just because its 0 mana to draw a card. Yes it takes a card slot that could be used for something better, but I built the deck to be extremely low on lands, play the odds and thin the deck very very quickly.

Some side themes the deck has are making small tokens and finding any way possible to equip for free. Equipping for free is one of the most powerful things you can do in any equipment based deck, and I think I have just about all of them, comment below if I missed any, except for that one that has "tap attach an equipment to target creature" because he is 4 CMC and thats too darn slow. I have a token maker side theme with Monastery Mentor, Kjeldoran outpost, and Kemba Kha Regent (and maybe some others I forget) because Sram decks get slammed by any deck that runs Edict effects (forced creature Sacrifice), and one of my friends loves his Butcher of Malakir. The tokens are merely for Sacrifice fodder and maybe some blocking every once in awhile.

Additionally I didn't want to just have super low CMC cards in the deck so I did add some high cost stuff like Mindslaver (not in the mainboard but I run it for the memes) because having only low CMC cards is boring to me. Honestly this deck functions best with a 2 land starting hand, because by turn 3 youll have drawn enough cards to pull another and not miss any. Unless you got unlucky and kept a hand with too many high CMC cards.

I did do some dumb stuff and added mana doublers like Extraplanar lens and Gauntlet of Power, but if you want to build a Sram of your own note that those effects are symmetrical, so any opponent with a basic plains will also have their mana ramped pretty hard. I think the effect is negligible when I can reach triple or even quadruple mana by copying a Gauntlet of Power and having both it and the Lens out and then just play solitaire and kill my opponents one by one because mana cost does not affect me.

If you want to build a budget version, first replace all the expensive mana rocks (Mana crypt, Moxes) with Basic Plains, or white lands with Cycling (there are two). Additionally, if you don't want mana doublers (perhaps because too many people in your playgroup run white), then adding more cost reducers such as Jhoira's Familiar is highly recommended. This deck has a high focus on finding any way possible to equip all my equipment for free. Some of those cards such as Hammer of Nazahn make up a substantial part of the price tag, so finding other equip cost reducers is recommended (check SideBoard). Cost reducers are the more budget version of equipping for free, as the less you spend on casting the more you can spend on equpping! If you don't want to pay a ton of money for the Swords of X and X, then I would recommend replacing them with any equipment you can find that gives unblockable. (Hot Soup for example), as the main purpose of those swords is to drive damage through any blockers they might put up, which with the right equipments or auras, can get surprise kills out of nowhere.

If you have any suggestions please let me know, I do have like 60 cards in the sideboard I will upload them here soon.
