• I in no way am the creator or owner of the artwork used, I merely used my neophyte photo-editing skills to turn it into the digital alter you see. The picture is from Classic Jurassic Park, Vol. 5: Return to Jurassic Park, Part Two and all credit to those amazing artists and their distributors.

  • A list that strives to only be as strong as our opponents' decks by enabling and utilizing Etali's attack trigger as much as possible.

  • Our deck is built around Divergent Transformations. In order to "win immediately" when DT resolves we need two creatures to exile and only two creatures in our 99 so we always hit them.

  • Clear are our damage-based board wipes with most, besides those with , at a number that will take out most creatures but leave Etali standing, like Hour of Devastation.

  • Card Advantage largely looting effects Faithless Looting to ditch what we do not need to find what we do.

  • Ramp mainly mana rocks Fire Diamond and cost reducers Helm of Awakening in order to play Etali early, stay ahead of its growing commander tax, and fuel our x spells.

  • Interaction ways to mess with our opponents beyond their creatures, like Chaos Warp and Chaos Wand.

  • Support huge focus on spells that give Etali haste, other keywords, or combat shenanigans; so equipment Haunted Cloak, spells Expedite, and extra combat steps Fury of the Horde.

  • Utility spells that strengthen the list but are not integral; like copying spells Fork, doubling Etali’s attack trigger Strionic Resonator, making tokens Kher Keep, and recurring spells from the bin Past in Flames.

  • Win I like flexible decks that can win in a few ways depending on draws, opponent's game-plans and interaction. These will be detailed down below but all pieces are useful individually and great together in different combinations.

  • Mana since we are Mono- we can get away with more utility lands so nearly every category has a couple to help round out the list to function better.

  • Etali, Primal Storm is a great enabler to a deck built around Divergent Transformations because we have the chance to freely cast creatures off the top of our opponents’ libraries. Obviously this is not guaranteed and why we have other ways to have two creatures available when we find DT.

  • Etali will probably generate hate from the get-go because not everyone likes to have someone else cast their cards, which is fair, so getting down a haste enabler Messenger's Speed or protection Sword of Truth and Justice before casting him is imperative to gaining max value from his attack triggers.

  • Early game we want to drop mana rocks Ruby Medallion, equipment Swiftfoot Boots, and clear the board Storm's Wrath before casting Etali.

  • Mid game we keep doing what we have been doing but take note of our opponent's strategies. Identify who will be the biggest thorn in our backside and target them down while not totally pissing off the other two. We are semi-archenemy from the get-go but proper threat assessment and politics will be key for this deck to win.

  • Late game depending on how things have gone we may not need more of a win condition than what our opponents’ libraries have granted us but ideally we have a few of our win conditions in hand and can swiftly finish the game off with those.

  • While it is unfortunate that our extra combat step spells like Relentless Assault do not work with Etali's attack trigger, they are still great. At worst if we hit one off Etali's trigger he gets vigilance and best we cast one from hand for an extra combat step (or two if we can Fork it!).

  • Hazoret's Monument is better than I initially thought since it triggers for every creature we cast off Etali's attack trigger.

  • While we are adept at keeping creature based decks at bay, control can be troublesome. I am considering to add a single land hate piece like Blood Moon, Winter Orb or Ruination for low-creature-count or control matchups since we break their symmetry with our Mountains and mana rocks.
