Commander / EDH* Burn Combo Jank Mono-Red Multiplayer Red Deck Wins

Across the planes there are many places where PLaneswalker recruit powerful creatures of all shapes and sizes to lead their armies. Yet Kammigawa is home to many powerful allies-or enemies should you anger them- that are lost and forgotten to the ages.

Mostly because a lot of them suck.

But some are decent. And now, I show you hidden power lost behind the door of time. An everlasting flame that you can harness for your own devices, if you can stand the heat!

The deck

The basic essence of the deck is a big mana red tempo deck. You ramp into big fates and giant burnt spells to end the game as quickly as possible while simultaneously trying to keep your opponents down and prevent them from doing things.

Jiwari, the Earth Aflame shines best at doing this. If nothing else, it's the ability to shoot down almost any creature, only limited by the mana at your disposal. But of course we have a little more up our sleeve. Stuffy Doll, Mogg Maniac and Coalhauler Swine can turn Jiwari into a repeatable Fireball, that can be cast from the command zone if it dies. Repercussion lets us hit both the creature and the player with one blow. Arcbond turns Jiwari into a Starstorm and with Darksteel Plate he sticks around. Finally if things get a little two big, Erratic Portal allows you to wrath and start again.

Because of Jiwari's mana sink ability, we run almost all the ramp we can get. Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Thran Dynamo, Hedron Archive. We even have infinite mana with Basalt Monolith and Rings of Brighthearth, only limited by the creature we need dead.

But what goes well with mana? Fireball's. We have them all from Demonfire to Banefire, we have ways to end the game quickly if need be.

The rest of the deck is efficient threats or game enders. War Elemental works well with our fireballs. As does Fire Servant and Embermaw Hellion look innocent but can grow out of hand quickly. Blightsteel Colossus and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger basically say the game is over. Inferno Titan, Hoarding Dragon, Treasonous Ogre. The deck preys fast but can go big as well.

Jiwari, the Earth Aflame is a commander that you shouldn't forget about. He may look pretty niche but he's secretly very powerful and definitely worth building around. You can go more controly red with stuff like startstorm and Skullclamp or even faster with stuff like Furnace of Rath and Grenzo, Havoc Raiser. I'm very interested to see what a tuned deck with him would look like and he doesn't deserve to be an unplayable commander anymore.

This is another deck in my series of unplayable commanders. See the discussion Which you can click on here!
