So, I’ve been working on Kykar, Wind's Fury for a while now as my secondary commander deck (my main deck being JUND Lands) and I think it is starting to take shape, but it’s not quite there yet. It started out as a control deck based off my Baral build (I Said "No"), which struggled to win games and everyone hated when I played. I’ve been diversifying the build and I wouldn’t even classify it as control anymore, but it also isn’t all-in combo. I want a diverse deck with lots of interaction and multiple ways to finish things out, and this is where we stand right now.

Combos include Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter which goes with Kykar, Wind's Fury and any two mana rocks to make infinite spirits and infinite red mana. If you add Impact Tremors and/or Purphoros, God of the Forge, you get infinite damage, even if you only have one mana rock. If you have Anointed Procession you can combo off without mana rocks, as long as you have the mana from your lands or existing spirits to get it started.

Of course, my favorite win is to make infinite red mana with this combo and then immediately end things with Comet Storm, because... you know.. it's Comet Storm.

The Dramatic Reversal combo with two mana rocks also gives you infinite tokens with Monastery Mentor, Young Pyromancer, or Talrand, Sky Summoner. Then, with Shared Animosity the tokens alone can be a serious threat even if they aren’t infinite.

Add Aetherflux Reservoir to the mix to gain infinite life and shoot your opponents to death.

You can also use God-Eternal Kefnet + Jace, the Mind Sculptor + Nexus of Fate to take infinite turns, winning with another combo, a fair win, or with Laboratory Maniac.

It’s not a game ender, but I’m also currently running Narset, Parter of Veils alongside Wheel of Fortune and Echo of Eons, which results in your opponents only getting one card in-hand while you get a full grip. I didn’t really go all-in here, but the opportunity cost was low since each of these cards is very good on its own.

Finally, the deck draws a bunch of cards, so The Locust God was a natural inclusion. I had previously tried Niv-Mizzet, Parun, but it was difficult to cast unless I was already on a roll.

I’m also considering getting nostalgic for my modern days and adding Twin combos (Splinter Twin, Deceiver Exarch, Pestermite, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Restoration Angel) or the less-good version, Copycat (Felidar Guardian + Saheeli Rai ), but Copycat is less synergistic with the rest of the deck…

I’ve also considered adding some Stax/Pillowfort elements, but they seemed to water down the deck even more. I’m not trying to brew a super competitive deck here. I mostly play with friends in a casual setting. But I want to up the power level and consistency here. With that said, there are some budgetary constraints, but I am willing to invest some more money in the deck. I’m not planning to buy the other duals or a Mana Crypt at the moment, even though they would be obvious and substantial upgrades for the deck.

So this is where we stand right now. I’m open to suggestion, and appreciate any help.
