Maybeboard

Welcome to my one-of-a-kind Venser build! Be warned, your opponents are not going to like you for playing this deck. But we're in mono blue, so I guess that's kind of a given.

Our commander can be a versatile utility piece, or he can be our road to victory. It all depends on how stabilized we are. Let's get into the nitty-gritty.

The main idea is to cast Venser, Shaper Savant over and over, bouncing troublesome spells and permanents. "But how can we bounce Venser around, if he can only bounce one thing at a time?" you might ask.

The answer is, make him bounce two things at a time! Naban, Dean of Iteration, Panharmonicon, Reflections of Littjara, Galecaster Colossus, and Hullbreaker Horror each provide the effect of doubling our commander's effect (if you're really into it, you can also run Tidespout Tyrant). With any of these cards out, we can use Venser to bounce himself as well as something else. This means, that with enough mana, we can keep on bouncing people's stuff! Be warned, these cards are essential to our game-plan. Stay cautious, and whenever possible, use Venser to protect them.

Now, the next main issue is that we need mana. The most efficient way to recast one card over and over, would be to reduce that card's cost, and we have many ways to do that: Sapphire Medallion, Helm of Awakening, and Stonybrook Banneret each serve this purpose, but more efficient versions of these include Semblance Anvil and Urza's Incubator, since they half our commander's casting cost on their own. But the most efficient of all is a card we all know and love: Omniscience. You might be seeing the beginnings of combo potential in this deck.

The other way we gain a lot of mana is through mana-doublers. These are Caged Sun, Gauntlet of Power, Extraplanar Lens, and even High Tide (because of these I tend to keep my non-basic land count low). Combine these with some untappers, like Frantic Search, Finale of Revelation, Turnabout, Peregrine Drake and the Great Whale, to make your turns a joyride. For you.

Look, cards like Stasis and Winter Orb are... well... good cards. But if you're not at a table of CEDH players, don't expect these to earn you any new friends.

However, there is a reason I put them into the Maybeboard; they do synergize with our commander a great deal. All we need to do is Jazz Hands either of these off the board immediately before our own turn, so that we get to untap, while nobody else does (fun).

What do you think? Is there anything that I left out in this deck? Feel free to let me know in the comments below!
