Power through growth

As of 9/22/18 deck price is $24.44 on TCGPlayer!

Includes heavily played cards, not including shipping and basic lands

After seeing Mikaeus, Extreme Sub $20 Budget EDH it inspired me to try and create a $20 Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord deck. I came close! My goal was to have as little cards as possible be valued over $2. I met that goal and only a few key cards actually cost more than $2.

This deck is meant to do all the same stuff the Mikaeus, Extreme Sub $20 Budget EDH deck does. Kill the entire table at once with an infinite combo. This is a very resilient deck with a lot of answers. The first order of business is always to start dredging as soon as possible and fill up the graveyard. The second order of business is to protect the graveyard at all costs.
The Quillspike combo is temporarily replacing the Phyrexian Devourer combo due to card price fluxuation

Assumes listed creatures are in play and you have .

  • Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord + Wall of Blood = Kill all opponents at once if you have the most life (make sure you have the most life by using Gnaw to the Bone)

  • IMPORTANT: the below combos assume the listed creatures are in the graveyard and that Necrotic Ooze is on the battlefield.

  • Farmstead Gleaner + Viridian Joiner or Krosan Restorer w/ threshold = Infinite colored mana + Crypt Rats = kill all opponents with lower life total than you. (Make sure you have the most life by using Gnaw to the Bone)

  • Pestilent Souleater + Wall of Blood = Infect creature that can kill in one swing
  • Phyrexian Devourer + Triskelion = Infinite pinging! (Removed due to price)
  • Tree of Perdition = Change an opponents life total to 3 (Removed due to price)
  • Endling; Undying

  • Lotleth Troll; Regenerate
  • Reaper of the Wilds; Hexproof
  • Thornling; Indestructible
  • Sylvan Safekeeper; Shroud (Removed due to price)
  • Temur Sabertooth; Indestructible and/or return another creature you're trying to protect to your hand (Removed due to price)
  • There are too many interactions with Necrotic Ooze to count in this deck. The bulk of the activated abilities can be paid with life or by discarding cards, I did this so you don't need to have open mana to regenerate your Ooze and so you have plenty of ways to discard the creatures you want in your yard. However, this can leave your hand empty and your life low. Corpse Auger should be able to net you at least ten cards mid to late game to help fill your hand back up to discard and give Ooze some more cool abilities and Gnaw to the Bone should be able to gain you a large amount of life late game.

This section is about the cards to add to the deck of you don't have a limited budget or if you already own some of these more powerful/expensive cards. The first section to focus on would be the mana base. Cards to add: - Cabal Coffers - Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - Verdant Catacombs - Twilight Mire - Overgrown Tomb - Volrath's Stronghold - Winding Canyons - Woodland Cemetery The second thing to add is the combo piece that is out of the budget range: - Mikaeus, the Unhallowed The next area to focus is tutors and card draw to speed up your combo: - Demonic Tutor - Fauna Shaman - Sidisi, Undead Vizier - Rune-Scarred Demon - Necropotence - Sylvan Library - Phyrexian Arena After that the only thing to do is add some 'win-more' and utility cards: - Lord of Extinction - Kokusho, the Evening Star - Massacre Wurm - Primordial Hydra You can view my more expensive build here:

This section is a bit less relevant since the deck is now super budget and could benefit from a ton of more expensive cards

    Updates Add

Got some spicy new tech that I added. Also removed some higher priced cards in favor of some lower priced cards due to the always fluctuating secondary market. Updated the card categories so you can easily see which cards go with which combo. Not every single card is needed in most cases but if you have questions about a combo feel free to ask. Last thing, not all combos are listed of course because there are a bunch of less significant ones and a few that are pointless such as adding infect to the Crypt Rats combo to kill everyone including myself which I believe technically counts as a loss.
