It's Milling Time!, by Gyruda, Doom of Depths

Commander / EDH Mill Multiplayer Primer UB (Dimir)

Sideboard

This deck was inspired by Gyruda, Doom of Depths's ability to create repeated mill effects for all opponents. The intention is to mill for everyone at the table repeatedly until they run out of cards. The milling chains into repeated ETB effects with the use of clones and other creature synergies from creatures that are even converted mana cost.

If milling proves out to be too difficult against some opponents, the deck contains some alternate win conditions.

WARNING: Opponents generally hate to be milled, and will not like playing against you using this deck, so proceed with caution!

In order to have repeated ETB effects from Gyruda, Doom of Depths, we have the deck loaded with clone effects. These are all even converted mana cost and will continue the mill triggers.

Most of the time the Legendary rule will come into effect but there are two clones that enable clones of your commander. If you manage to get one of these clones early, you will create a massive Gyruda, Doom of Depths army, otherwise they'll die to the legendary rule.

Legendary Rule Breaker Clones

  1. Sakashima the Impostor

  2. Spark Double

  3. Sakashima of a Thousand Faces

Clones

  11. Glasspool Mimic   You can't hit this with Gyruda, Doom of Depths, but it's a land slot in the deck

  12. Sakashima's Protege

The ETB section covers ways to increase the Enter the battlefield triggers via instants / sorceries, ETB via artifacts/creatures, and finally death and reanimation from graveyard

Instants / Sorceries

  1. Displace: dual creature flicker

  2. Essence Flux: single creature flicker

  3. Ghostly Flicker: dual creature/artifact flicker

  4. Siren's Ruse: creature flicker

  5. Teferi's Time Twist: creature flicker

  2. Deadeye Navigator with Gyruda, Doom of Depths for massive milling

  3. Panharmonicon doubles ETB effects on Gyruda, Doom of Depths

  4. Strionic Resonator additional trigger for Gyruda, Doom of Depths

  5. Torrential Gearhulk casts any of the instants that will blink Gyruda, Doom of Depths for triggers or timed with Sublime Epiphany from graveyard is an amazing play

  6. Thassa, Deep-Dwelling recurring Gyruda, Doom of Depths

  7. Araumi of the Dead Tide: Used to create 3 versions of anything with clones from graveyard. Best used to clone versions of Gyruda, Doom of Depths but could be anything

Legendary Death triggers and reanimation

  1. Animate Dead

  2. Dance of the Dead

  3. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed

  4. Necromancy

  5. Nightmare Shepherd

  6. Victimize

The ultimate goal is to abuse the ETB effect of Gyruda, Doom of Depths that you eventually mill all of your opponents out. If that fails, there are several different win conditions added to close out games.

  1. Bloodchief Ascension: Life drains with Mill when enabled, combos with Mindcrank

  2. Duskmantle Guildmage: Life drain with Mill, combos with Mindcrank

  3. Mindcrank: Combos with Duskmantle Guildmage and Syr Konrad, the Grim

  4. Syr Konrad, the Grim : Life drains with Mill when enabled, combos with Mindcrank

  5. Rise of the Dark Realms: Hilarious end to games as all graveyards will be huge when casted

  6. Thassa's Oracle: Used when own library is milled

  7. The Haunt of Hightower: Grows to insane size quickly to provide lethal damage to opponent

This section contains updates to deck.

Commander Legends:

  1. Altar of the Brood: Replaced by Araumi of the Dead Tide as this card has so much potential and Altar wasn't doing much

  2. Chromatic Lantern: Replaced by Heartless Summoning for faster / better ramp

  3. Helm of the Host: Replaced by Sakashima of a Thousand Faces as Helm was slow and this synergizes better with deck

  4. Kederekt Leviathan: Replaced by Sakashima's Protege as Kederekt was cute but not effective to deck strategy

  5. Ravenous Chupacabra: Replaced by Amphin Mutineer as exile > destroy and synergizes much better with mill synergizes
