It Came from the Mist

Commander / EDH

SaberTech

Uril is the second commander general that I ever worked with, and is actually the one that got me into the commander format to begin with. This deck has been around for a while and has seen a number of changes, but it is still the one that I test all my new commander decks against to see if they have what it takes.

Like most Uril decks, this one is focused on the general and pumping him up with auras to quickly win with general damage. The deck also packs a land destruction sub-theme to help limit the opponent's options once Uril is set to dominate the field.

To prevent from being completely locked down if the opponent finds a way to repeatedly deal with Uril, I've worked enough versatility into the deck that it can play a pretty successful control strategy late game. My second strongest finisher after Uril has frequently proven to be Sun Titan after I managed to get Unquestioned Authority or Spirit Mantle on it. An unblockable Sun Titan works great in conjunction with Strip Mine, Dauntless Escort, Qasali Pridemage, and Sterling Grove.
