Sideboard

Instant (2)

Sorcery (8)

Me and my friends at school are holding our own modern tournament to see who is obviously the best at playing magic. Just thought i would put up my deck and see what people think and if there is anything i can change.

The main idea is really life drain, using Pack Rat as a build to Essence Harvest. Blood Baron of Vizkopa sit here quite nicely as a tough to control finisher. While my walkers help me to either stall or in Venser, the Sojourner's case for removal and can also help reset my Detention Spheres.

Other cards like Ephara, God of the Polis is really for the draw trigger, Leyline of Anticipation for flash, Negate and Doom Blade for general removal.

Whip of Erebos is to return my cards discarded to Pack Rat and the ones I think work really well are the two ghost councils ( obzedat ghoat council and Ghost Council of Orzhova ).

The side board is for when my general plan of action goes wrong or when i am playing against other control esc decks i guess.

BTW here is a list of decks i will/may be facing:

  • Murica control (feat. ajani vengeant )

  • Boros aggro/weenie

  • Orzhov weenie (lots of enchantments, like 30%)

  • Junk tokens

  • Golgari (old and new)

  • Gruul monsters

  • Naya hexproof

-Four colour Pod

And last but not least.... Turbo Fog (Bant)

Please give feedback and things that I need/should add/remove etc...Thank you and have fun playing!
