Welcome to my Jodah, the Unifier cascade deck focused on the "Partner with" mechanic. This deck hopes to create fund cross-partner reactions to great effect (hence the name). Below I hope to explain the crazy concept of the deck and all the wonderfully fun potential this deck has. This deck is a constant work in progress so suggestions are always appreciated!

Ever since the release of Battlebond and the printing of "Partner with" cards, I have wanted to make an EDH deck revolved around the card advantage that the etb fetch effect of "Partner with" cards can achieve. Jodah, the Unifier's has a anthem ability that wants many legendary creatures in play and a cascade ability to get them there. When casting a "Partner with" card with Jodah out, we can cascade into a legendary and then still fetch their synergistic legendary partner to our hand with the "Partner with" etb trigger. We get bonus points if we cascaded into another "partner with" card because then we are fetching 2 legendary cards to out hand. Casting those cards we just fetched repeats the whole process. This deck is very good at going wide with legendary creatures very fast.

The only problem is that there are 15 legendary "Partner with" pairs. If we ran all of them we would have little room for anything else. On top of that each promote different strategies. I have selected 7 of the pairs that have vary interesting cross-pairing synergies like Pir, Imaginative Rascal + Toothy, Imaginary Friend and Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel + Nikara, Lair Scavenger. The rest of the deck is filled with ramp and legends matters effects like Reki, the History of Kamigawa, Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge, Ratadrabik of Urborg, and Kethis, the Hidden Hand.

The deck is best understood by looking at the legendary cards by their cmc. Because of Jodah's legendary cascade effect, legendary creatures of a cmc of 3 or lower are seen almost every game and going wide with them is super effective. Because of the consistency in which we see our low cmc legendaries, they all need to be very good for inclusion in this deck. We have more liberty with higher cmc legendaries, but the meat and potatoes of the deck is 2 and 3 cmc legendaries.

  • Mox Amber: This card is the only 0 cmc Legendary we run. It is only included because it is good ramp and it eeks out just a little more value from whenever we get a cascade trigger off of casting a 2cmc legendary creature.

  • Abaddon the Despoiler: Better than Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder because it does not have to be combat damage. This means Ukkima, Stalking Shadow now can give everything cascade. Would like to add more instant damage effects to make this even better.
  • Heroes' Podium: Basically another legendary anthem ability.
  • Krav, the Unredeemed: I have a love/hate relationship with this card. This deck would much rather play 2 or 3 low cmc legendaries than expensive ones. He and his partner Regna, the Redeemer are the high cmc so I often find myself just holding them in my hand. At the moment he stays but he and his partner might not be long for this deck for too much longer.
  • Samut, Voice of Dissent: A double striker that gives everything haste is well worth 5 mana. With both the anthem effect and double strike, she is also a good target for Thassa, God of the Sea to make unblockable.
  • Urza's Ruinous Blast: This is basically a onesided boardwipe that exiles. Very hard to rebuild when everything went to exile instead of graveyard.

  • Ramos, Dragon Engine: With all the multicolored spells we run, Ramos can often serve as good ramp or just a huge flyer. We rarely cast legendary spells of 6 cmc or higher so having one like this is nice.
  • Regna, the Redeemer: This card and their partner is always on and off the chopping block. The addition of all our food synergies does help their cause because she specifies each end step and not just our end step.

  • Maelstrom Wanderer: He is a haste enabler who does his own cascading. Whenever he hits the total power on the board jumps dramatically. He is basically our version of Craterhoof Behemoth.
