Hello everyone and welcome to my tubo mill deck! so ive played in a couple of FNMs now and have made some needed changes to the deck.
CARD BREAKDOWN:
So because this is a mill deck the way we are going to win is putting all the cards from target opponents library into their graveyard, and the cards you will be using to do so are - Breaking, Tome Scour, Mind Funeral, Archive Trap, and Glimpse the Unthinkable.
There are a few other cards in the list that you will be using to indirectly mill your opponent, those include - Mesmeric Orb and Hedron Crab, i will say that Hedron Crab has been an all-star in the list when the opposing party doesnt have an answer right away. He can easily mill for 9 which just adds value to your land drops. Hedron Crab also pairs extremely well with Oboro, Palace in the Clouds. when you dont have a land drop this turn you can just tap oboro to pick it up, hit the land drop by playing it again and then you can still use it for mana that turn! And if one crab can add that much value, just wait till you have 2 or even 3 out at the same time. land value.
Every deck needs some answers to things on board or in the opponents deck and this deck is no exception. cards i use in this area - Echoing Truth, Surgical Extraction, Spell Snare, and Go for the Throat. The surgical extractions are really strong in the deck because if its game 2 or 3 and so you already know what you need to worry about your opponent playing, you can Tome Scour turn one and if you already found a piece to their victory, boom Surgical Extraction that piece away. surgical extraction is also in use for cards like emrakul, the aeons thorn because if they just keep putting their grave into their library, well you cant win. so when emrakul (or other shuffle grave card) triggers that ability, in response you can just Surgical Extraction that card away.
Echoing Truth is also needed for cards like say Leyline of Sanctity which just render the deck useless (hence the 2 in the sideboard).
I particularly like the draw power of this deck because of the card that just becomes online so much faster than other decks - Visions of Beyond. being able to draw 3 for 1 mana is just absolutely disgusting.
then the one of in the deck to help gain some life to last a little longer is - Crypt Incursion. if you happen to face against a super aggro deck, just side in the other 3 and after the first one or two youll probably gain enough life to win the game.
SIDEBOARD:
Ravenous Trap - side in against delver heavy decks or dredge decks.
Crypt Incursion - see above
Pithing Needle - good against tron whos main win cons are karn and ugin. also good against some burn decks and cards like Grim Lavamancer.
Hero's Downfall - when you need to really destroy a creature (thats an artifact) or planeswalker i.e tron
Echoing Truth - cards like Leyline of Sanctity and other cards that shut you down.
Remand - when Spell Snare doesnt have very many good targets and they play big things.
Darkness - against zoo/creature based win cons.
