With the banning of Eye of Ugin in Modern, the Golden Age of Eldrazi rapidly came to its end. Eldrazi decks stopped seeing play and prices of once powerful Eldrazi spells stooped to new lows, the Dark Age of Eldrazi was upon us. The Eldrazi struggled to find their place in Modern, until one day, the Eldrazi stumbled across the abandoned UrzaTron factories, a powerful symbol of their glorified past. The Eldrazi remembered how efficient these machines once were at producing colorless mana. With that thought, a spark of hope was ignited...

I've been having a tremendous amount of success with this build in competitive Modern metas both online and at my lgs. I have 4 Modern decks, this one is the least expensive and perhaps the most powerful. I've seen a lot of Eldrazi Tron lists floating around lately, primarily the entirely colorless list with 24 lands and only 4 Expedition Map s to tutor the right pieces. I've played against these lists and have been utterly unimpressed as I watch them fumble to hit the land drops they need while I'm pumping out huge threats turn after turn. If you're interested in Eldrazi Tron I encourage you to explore the various lists out there but I think you'll come back to find that this one is the most potent. Basilisk Collar + Endbringer / Walking Ballista FTW

Why Play Eldrazi Tron?

You may be wondering why someone would play Eldrazi Tron over Tron proper. For starters, this deck is about half the price of a regular Tron list and would be a viable deck to invest in for someone just breaking into the Modern format. However, the advantages go beyond the budget. Tron proper's biggest weakness is land destruction and Blood Moon and they cannot do much of anything without Tron assembled. This deck has a more resilient mana base and can continue to produce threats if the opponent is disrupting our lands. Another benefit of playing this deck over Tron proper is that we have a vast and diverse package of threats. Tron proper only runs a small package of threats, albeit that package is incredibly potent. What you're doing by playing Eldrazi Tron over Tron proper is sacrificing sheer potency for resilience. Wins may be slightly slower but you will have less bad match ups and be able to grind out wins in matches Tron proper would likely lose.
