"And I'm looking to the sky to save me

Looking for a sign of life

Looking for something to help me burn out bright..."

An updated version of my first ever EDH deck, this deck is aiming to fall in between the 50% and 75% tiers of EDH. It focuses on fair creature combat and avoids infinite combos in order to avoid overwhelming more casual tables, but also packs enough synergy, power, resilence, and interaction to win at more tuned tables. In other words, this is aiming to be my "mid-tier" powered deck that can fit in at a table ranging from upgraded precons to more tuned/optimized decks. Cards like Cathars' Crusade or Mana Crypt have been cut in order to better fit into this power level goal.

Thematically, the deck revolves around the struggles and growth of a righteous army as they support each other, gather resources, and eventually provide enough devotion to inspire Ephara, God of the Polis to join the fight. Mechanically, the deck is a blink/tokens deck. By blinking the various ETB creatures through Conjurer's Closet, Sword of Hearth and Home, Teleportation Circle, and Thassa, Deep-Dwelling, the deck accumulates value, resources, and a large amount of creature tokens.

The central goal of the deck is to win through the combat step, in a blend of going "tall" and "wide." The anthems provide devotion and a power boost for Ephara, making her a threat to win through commander damage especially when paired with unblockable or double-striking effects, but they also increase the power of the token army enough that they become a threat to win the game with a massive boardswing. Therefore the two strategies work in unison. If opponents focus too much on dealing with Ephara, they can get overrun by our army; and if they focus too much on controlling the value creatures and token army, it opens up room for Ephara to finish the game.
