Introduction

Illuna meditated in the primordial haze of the beforetime. Would she rise from the depths of uncreation as a wise and manipulative Johnny or just be an absolute Timmy and slap adversaries with her huge primordial schlong? She sat in silence, the du'at slowly rising into the mortal realms, suddenly she had an epiphany...

Thusly, breaching the surface of the abyss, Illuna, Apex of Blue Shenanigans and Stompy Boys was born.

Win Conditions

There are several ways to win with the commander, the most obvious is Blightsteel Colossus.

Secondary wincons involve Stalking Predators: Having your opponents hesitate to cast spells is advantageous and any spell they do cast is a win for you. Blackblade Reforged the deck easily ramps up to lethal commander damage, pairing with a mutated Omnivorous Hydra and the results are absolutely devastating.

Lesser wincons include Radha, Heart of Keld, much like Blackblade, she can swing for lethal commander when mutated. Thassa's Oracle a great utility card in this deck, I don't expect many if any wins, but it is an option, especially against a mill boy. Brash Taunter, I just love this card, block with it and use its fight mechanic and you can do some big damage late game, also pairs quite well with Blasphemous Act.

Preservation

We have Illuna, we want to keep Illuna -- this means we need suitable mutate targets Thrun, the Last Troll is one of the best options, almost unmovable. Others you can see give indestructible and/or hexproof.

Counterspells are prevalent. Sanctum of Eternity and Crystal Shard are fantastic cards for both preservation and recastability.

Top Deck Manipulation

It is incredibly important to scry and/or view the top deck of your library to ensure the best free drops from Illuna. The best engines for this include Mirri's Guile and Scroll Rack. Future Sight is remarkable and the lesser ones are Radha, Heart of Keld, Vizier of the Menagerie and Vivien, Monsters' Advocate. Essentially, whenever a card is played from your library, you draw a new card. Remarkable. The essentials are here as well, Brainstorm/Ponder also a slew of others, involving lands and artifacts and creatures.

Mutate

This deck cheats out big boys by mutating. The mutate mechanic can be a confusing one and not all the cards are worth their costs in the commander format. I tried to keep in all the mutate cards with lesser mutate costs compared to their CMC so I am only paying 1-4 mana or so to cheat the top card of my library and get the bonus mutate effect.

Some of my favorites are Migratory Greathorn for the ramp, Auspicious Starrix for the bonus cheating and Lore Drakkis for the recursion - being able to return Cyclonic Rift to my hand with each mutate is a boon.

Lastly, I have Seasons Past come the event my mutate cheat engine runs dry, does especially well considering not a lot of mutate is viable for commander.
