Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip is maindeck quality!

I was considering him in the mainboard. What would you recommend taking out?

Olivia Voldaren and/or Tasigur, the Golden Fang and/or Chandra, Pyromaster.

They're all good for the right reasons, but seem to be less of "the core" of the Jund build, and thus can make room for Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip.

The 6 cmc Tasigur can really hurt off of Dark Confidant despite him being a one-of atm, but he's in there bc he's grindy and Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip ia good in a grindy matchup imo w out the possible punishent of the 6 CMC.

That's a good point. I like Olivia Voldaren a lot, so I'm going to keep her in there. That opens up two spots in the sideboard. The sideboard is something I'm still working on since I can't figure out my LGS's meta. The decks are different every week, and I have no idea what's going on. But I'll figure it out. For the time being, I'll throw Chandra and another Fulminator Mage in the SB.

Glad to help!

I also agree on your update, I always found linear decks to be really boring, albeit powerful.

For SB: also take into consderations the weak matchups this deck faces. I never played Jund myself, but I think Tron is troublesome for this build.Your removal is bad vs Wurmcoil Engine and can't touch Karn Liberated.

How to beat Tron? You don't try to beat it's bombs, rather disrupt the enablers:

Of course, discard is for that. But end the match w Sowing Salt.

Just food for thought! Good luck

I forgot about Sowing Salt. I know there's a Tron deck running around here and there. The guys at my store have pooled together money to buy two playsets of every modern staple, so they change their decks every week. It's pretty difficult to keep up with that. My second modern deck is Tron actually, and the Ghost Quarters hurt me the most. I'll give Sowing Salt a try.

Lol I wish I had friends willing to delve into Modern staples like that.

I'm on my own on that front :'(

Manabase is a bit wonky. Always two Overgrown Tomb, 1 Blood Crypt, 1 Stomping Ground. I might try a Treetop Village over a Ravine or two, because being cheaper to activate is very relevant in the mirror.

For the sideboard, I'd advise looking at as many lists online as you can to get an idea of all of your options. Some gems are hidden all over the place.

As for the maindeck, I'm a fan. I like a Grim Lavamancer in the maindeck and possibly a Go for the Throat over a Terminate because vs. any aggro deck except Affinity the easier cost is great.

Yeah, the manabase was the part I was just kind of struggling with.

I think I'm going to give 1 Treetop Village a go for right now then perhaps switch to two once I better understand my LGS. I'm probably going to leave Grim Lavamancer in the sideboard because I like how the mainboard looks for right now, but I'll probably end up replacing one Terminate with Go for the Throat.

Thanks.

I'm wondering why Combust is the featured card.

This was my Naya Burn deck. But I think Combust is a goofy looking card. I might change it to Tarmogoyf since this deck's namesake is Tarmogoyf.

NoPantsParade Man, I was wondering what happened. I never remembered following a Tarmogoof deck. Hahaha

Sorry about that. I was on my phone at the time and didn't feel like getting fancy, so I just changed it.

Welcome to the family.

I said something along the lines of, "Goyfs are too expensive for a fucking MTG card." Then my tax return came, aaaaaaaand it went.

This is my little farewell to buying Magic cards since I'm starting college. I'm two Goyfs away from the set. I've been a part of team making bad financial decisions since freshman year.

My wife stopped caring on what cards I bought once I started bringing home wins. I recently sold my standard cards and some modern cards that I won at my LGS for around 600 in value. Add that to other monetary wins and she realizes that goyfs and MTG in general is a pretty sound investment. Bad decisions be damned!

It wasn't until after I sold my random cards, that I still had a bunch of crazy value in my binder still hanging around that she started buggin me about getting my cards insured. Lol.

Damn, hopefully I'll bring home some wins during college. The money would be nice.
