Commander / EDH BG (Golgari) Intimidate Trample Vampires

CaptainCortez

I usually just play my Elf Deck, but after going through almost every card I own, I decided to go Golgari. This started out as a Zombie Golgari deck, with the plan of making a separate Vampire deck, but I realised I had so many Zombie cards it was better as its own deck, so I ended up just creating a somewhat unique Golgari Vampire deck.

So the idea is no matter which way you gain life, all opponents are punished.

If you gain life, they lose life. If you can't gain life, they lose life. If they kill a creature, they lose life. If the numbers of creatures build up in the graveyard, they lose life based on how many creatures are dead. If they play a spell, they lose life. If I sacrifice a creature, they lose life. If anyone brings out a creature, I gain life, which means they lose life.

I wanted some heavy hitters with my green and specifically have Inquisitor's Flail in there for Grunn. The idea is to give him intimidate and trample, pump him with Forced Adaptation, turn him into a Vampire with Mephidross Vampire, give him lifelink and then smash the ever-living hell out of an opponent with him.

Lathril is in there to help with the life gain punishment, because if I trigger her ability to create 10 other Elves, then tap said 10, an opponent loses 10 life, then because I gain 10 life from that, they immediately lose another 10 life. I also have Alhammaret's Archive in there to double the amount of life I gain. Wound Reflection then damages them again for the amount of damage they took this turn. It's horrible, intentionally so.

Everything gets pumped if Mephidross comes in, because it turns them into a Vampire and allows for them to pump with +1/+1 counters, so other cards in this deck which pump other Vampires will pump all creatures in that situation.

Then Meren of Clan Nel Toth is my Commander so that I can keep bringing my creatures back in order for them to die again, continuing the punishment.

Fynn is in there with a few Deathtouch Vamps/creatures to add poison counter pressure. Same for Vraska really.

Avabruck Caretaker is in there to boost +1/+1 counter production and Primordial Hydra is in there as my favourite wildcard.

I haven't tested the deck out yet, but at a glance I'd say this decks two main weaknesses are the mana costs of some of the more powerful cards, and that I'm a little light on land, but I think it should work out.
