The focal points of this deck are hatebears, beats, noncreature stax, and Oracle. It is designed for high power metas (basically a step or two below cEDH).

Given all the puns I can make with Chulane's name and the toolbox nature of the deck, I decided to make my deck a reference to Pokémon. I know the name isn't pronounced "CHOO-lane," but the pun still works for me.

This deck is the result of ongoing collaboration with Ifeno, a friend from my LGS.

Considerations

1) Yasharn, Implacable Earth

This deck needs either a basic Plains or Island on the board to go for the Earthcraft combo, which is one of the easiest to pull off. Yasharn not only grabs one, it also grabs a Forest and stops some strategies that common decks use.

I would likely have to cut out some of the fetches to run this, which makes me very iffy on this card. I had to cut another card in the past for similar reasons.

2) Dizzy Spell

Transmute into Shrieking Drake/Mom/Giver. Because Shrieking Drake is such a powerful card in this deck, as it is both a value engine and a combo piece, it alone makes the inclusion of this tutor worth it. It also dodges my taxes and stays at a reasonable 3 mana, which is great once I've locked the board down. The fact that transmuting doesn't count as casting also is important, as it dodges counterspells and gets around Deafening Silence's restriction. All in all, despite being a very narrow tutor, it is exceptional in this list in theory. I just need to find room for it.
