Major Changes Incoming...Soon-ish —March 4, 2018

So. We all need to talk.

I've been happy with this deck for years. It was my very first commander deck and has stuck with me for all this time. I owe great thanks to the TappedOut community for helping me find so many fascinating ways to tune this list.

That being said...I have found this deck to be very stagnant over the last year or so, and rarely pull it out of its box. I also sense that it has reached a dead end: I never find new cards to add, because it already has every slot filled for some purpose. I feel that it is time for me to make major alterations to this list and its philosophy, and I will need a month or two to do so. In the meantime, this decklist is no longer being updated. Stay tuned for further information!

Oh lotus cobra? Let us know how that's been working out for you. I do prefer Bloom Tender in the 2 drop slot, it's proved to be a good ramp creature.

Razaketh will be going in my list. Probably replace rune-scarred demon

I forgot to ask. What do you think of the new crucible of worlds creature?

Ramunap Excavator

kilgore: I really should be playing both...and Ramunap Excavator looks amazing, I just haven't acquired one yet...

I like this deck a lot, it looks like a ton of fun to play.

My main suggestions would be to cut some of the higher mana cost spells and add some mana acceleration like land searching effects or mana rocks.

I see that you already run some tutors to put things into your graveyard, but it might be nice to add some tutors that put cards in your hand. I know this is a budget list so I'd suggest Dark Petition and Beseech the Queen. Demonic Collusion is also good because the buyback allows you to discard cards to reanimate.

Trophy Mage might be good to search for Basalt Monolith, especially since you can reanimate it after milling it with Mesmeric Orb.

I'm not a big fan of Haunted Dead (Phantasmagorian is more mana efficient), Hell's Caretaker, Embalmer's Tools, or Fraying Sanity.

@Florg

Hell's Caretaker reanimates Manic in the upkeep and then you win at the draw phase.

I liked the Trophy suggestion.

This deck is aewsome, I've been playing a copy about sometime and still loving it, my friends are starting to call me Vera hahahaha

I really like Necrotic Ooze in my list. Especially with cards like Razaketh.

So one way you could thwart graveyard hate during your turn to prevent interrupting a combo your putting together is Dosan the Falling Leaf. He's cheap, he's useful, and he'll receive a lot of hate.

I may have already said this but Perpetual Timepiece is a great way to feed/protect that grave. It won me the game the other night being able to return most of my grave to prevent myself from being milled out and in turn let me set up for a lab win. Still a great deck. I have mad major changes to mine. LET me know what u think.

ZomBMO: I'll consider it! :) Honestly, I've set this deck aside somewhat since I'm messing with The Locust God so much recently.

How would you build this if your LGS had a "no infinite" rule?

Shredwick: Hmmm. On one level, I think this deck loses a lot without the potential for infinite combos. On the other hand, it would let you go more directly for classic reanimator cards, so you could fit in more big reanimation targets in place of some of the combo pieces. Does that help? :)

Why you dont use a eldrazi titan to hate grave? You can respond with entomb, for example.

juniogof: Because if I mill it by accident, suddenly I'm left without a graveyard (and thus, without resources). Also, it makes several of my combos not work.

+1 for the Firefly reference! The deck is pretty shiny too

May I suggest Dryad Arbor? I run it in my Sidisi simply because it is a creature for Sidisi as well as a land so you dont have to cut other spells and creatures for it

There are some new cards in the rivals set that may benefit this deck. We have World Shaper which allows you to send more cards to the graveyard and retrieve land. Next is Journey to Eternity. This should be easy to transform by sacing a creature and with that we get a mana and a reanimation engine. Finally we have Path of Discovery. With sidisi, if we keep uncovering creatures as our top card, we can generate a ton of zombies.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure where I want this deck to go at the moment. I'm playing around with several possible builds, but for the moment I'm not updating this list with new cards...
