have you double checked that is legal with Sygg as your commander since Homicidal BruteMTG Card: Homicidal Brute is red and there's no red in Sygg's color identity?

After research the official ruling is both sides of the dual faced cards do determine a cards color identy. Thanks for pointing that out I will be switching him out today.

Mindcrank would go well with Duskmantle Guildmage or Bloodchief Ascension for a win con

The title fits the art of Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker a hell of a lot better.

I'd swap out Megrim for Liliana's Caress . They are more or less the same card except one is easier to cast.

Great deck by the way! I was looking to do a Lazav deck myself and there are a lot of great ideas in here.

@apt142 Thanks! My play group hates this deck but it is such a blast to play. Ill definitely look at including Lilliana's Caress

@Manji187 definitely a cool card, I may include him into the deck but I really prefer Lazav for my general.

Another couple of suggestions:

Replace Tome Scour with Vision Charm

Also, consider adding in a Nephalia Drownyard . Jwar Isle Refuge are cheap and easy to get a hold of and would help with mana fixing.

Psychic Strike seems like it would be a good fit here as well.

You've inspired me to create my own Lazav deck. You can see it here: Mr Sneaky Pants

How about Oona, Queen of the Fae , unless you dont like her exiling the cards. Understandable.

April 16, 2013 6:08 p.m.

NBK_SHREDDER says... #17

also Grindstone ?

April 16, 2013 6:49 p.m.

iSpamMan says... #18

I would love to have a Grindstone if I get the chance to ever pick one up. Oona, Queen of the Fae is nice but yea the exile just doesnt go with the theme.

NBK_SHREDDER says... #19

Yeah that's what I thought, I have an EDH Mill deck myself, I have found that the exiling with Oona is very powerful because people can still play with the graveyard.

Awesome deck man, you have great cards here, it made me think about doing my commander, but, I don't think that the combo with Cast Through Time and Tamiyo, the Moon Sage works, because, please correct me if I'm wrong, the spells doesn't come back from the exile after the rebound works. And I also would suggest Brain Freeze it's a great milling card

apt142 says... #21

Chancellor of the Spires and Diluvian Primordial might be a blast (quite literally) with all of those fully packed graveyards.

April 17, 2013 8:08 p.m.

iSpamMan says... #22

Nice suggestions ill definitely take them into consideration.

diogonb I do believe that is how Cast Through Time works , the ruling on Gatherer states "6/15/2010 If you cast a card from exile this way, it will go to your graveyard when it resolves or is countered. It won't go back to exile."

diogonb says... #23

I've seen it now, after reading the rules, I've understood that you actually take the spell out from exile before you cast it again, so it returns to the graveyard after it's resolved, good idea for a combo man!

This deck is awesome! I just built my own UBR milling/discard commander deck: Rogues Are We. I'm also running Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank and I didn't even notice how awesome that combo is, especially the way I focus on unblockability. +1

iSpamMan says... #25

Mxyzptlk thanks!! It is by far my favorite EDH deck to run. When the Duskmantle Guildmage Mindcrank combo goes off, the look on my opponents faces is priceless.
