Well, it can be summed up by a single card: Death by Dragons.

It's a storm deck, and it has dragons in it. That's what it is. It diverges with the traditional storm on the "hit or miss" aspect, since you can still cast your dragons (exept Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund ) to try to beat your opponent to the ground if you can't storm all of them and kill your opponent with their etb abilities. This very advantage this deck has makes its own combo fizzle easier, since basically you do not want to draw one of your dragons.

2.1.The combo

The storm way of comboin' is to play a a maximum amounts of spells in a single turn to maximize the damages you're going to deal with a storm spell, like Grapeshot or Dragonstorm. Once you're sure you have what it takes to win the game, you can cast a lot of red spells to gain more mana (Desperate Ritual or Pyretic Ritual for example) with an enhanced efficiency thanks to cards like Goblin Electromancer or Baral, Chief of Compliance), convert this mana to blue with Manamorphose, resplenish your hand with cantrips (that you're going to flashback with Past in Flames).

Let's do some math now: Dragonstorm do not put all the dragons on the battlefield at the same time, so here's how to maximize the damages: bring all four Scourge of Valkas first to deal 1+2*2+3*3+4*4, then Bogardan Hellkite and Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund to deal 4*5+4*6 (+5 from the hellkite) more, and then if your opponent is still alive attack with everyone for an additional 4*4+5+7 damages, for a total of 107 damages! Also, you can use the remaining floating red mana to pump your Scourges, and deal even MOAR!

2.2.Preparing the combo

The only thing you can do to set everything up is play your cost reducing effects and wait to have 2 or more rituals (=mana producing instants)/Past in Flames/Dragonstorm or simply one Gifts Ungiven. You won't be able to do a lot of things during the game, but once you do something, it'll already be to late for your opponent to answer it.

Gifts Ungiven is the ultimate way to set your combo up. The best pile is described in the next part of the primer.

2.3.Using the cards at their full potential

The only gimmicks you need to know to be a good storm player are:

1. Cast Past in Flames when you've got enough mana to cast it but anything else to cast: it won't give flashback to the spells you played after it resolved.

2. You need only 3 spells before casting Dragonstorm to be able to deal 30 damages with four Scourge of Valkas, but since your opponent can always have an ace up into his sleeves, try to put all your dragons on the battlefield. If you do so, or if you can't for some reason put all your Hellkites into play, put first your Scourge of Valkas, then Bogardan Hellkite if you can, and last if some removals show up, Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund to go for the face-stomp!

3. Gifts Ungiven wins games on its own. With an Electromancer effect on the field, casting this at the end of the third turn can win you the game with the following pile: Past in Flames, Manamorphose, Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual. The worst cards your opponent can give you are Manamorphose and Past in Flames so we're going to look only at this case: play morphose for a red and a blue, cast past in flames for 3 (you should have at least three lands), use your red to get 5 mana by flashbacking the two rituals, flashback morphose to get an additional blue mana, flashback gifts with the pile Dragonstorm, Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual, Manamorphose, get your mana, flashback your Past in Flames, more mana, Dragonstorms, roasted ennemy remains.

The deck you're seing here is budget in itself (if we take a look at competitive modern decks usual prices, it is a little bit), but its price can be really reduced while staying a little bit performant. Here's how!

1. Trade all the lands here for 2 Halimar Depths , 7 Islands and 7 mountains. The deck will be already half its actual price!

2. Trade Gitaxian Probe and Serum Visions for Peek and Thought Scour (to mill yourself)

Trade Pyromancer Ascension for Dragon Tempest

Trade Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund and Dragonlord Kolaghan for two Lightning Shrieker

And the last but not the least, all four Scourge of Valkas for four Bogardan Hellkite!

I still haven't found any suitable replacement for Manamorphose yet, so if you know chich card to add instead, show it to me! :>
