WELCOME to the House of Pain where EVERYONE gets hurt and NOBODY likes it! The House's specialty is DAMAGE and it serves it up on the DOUBLE (and often time the TRIPLE)!! This deck is all about slinging damage and causing chaos! I hope you enjoy my TRIPLE commander deck ;)

The deck's heart and soul is damage, and so we need to 2x-3x our damage on the regular. The deck runs Jeska, Thrice Reborn in the command zone and Obosh, the Preypiercer in the companion slot so these cards are ALWAYS available to us any given game. The rest of the foundation is in cards like Quest for Pure Flame , Dictate of the Twin Gods , and Angrath's Marauders so the doubling of damage can happen at any time. The 2x damage synergizes nicely with Vial Smasher the Fierce as well as a ton of creatures in the list we will talk about later.

Mana Ramp is the most critical part of any good commander deck and when we forfeit our ability to play 2 and 4 drops, we miss out on a TON of ramp options. It forces us to rely on cards liked Sol Ring , Worn Powerstone , Gilded Lotus and the like as mana rocks. What with the lack of ramp I opted to squeeze some use out of the ritual cards. Obosh costs 3 generic mana to get from the companion zone, and so these rituals all help get him in hand and on the battlefield sooner rather than later. Cards like Dark Ritual and Jeska's Will will help ramp early game and Mana Geyser is a late game bomb. I opted to run a ton of double producing lands like Temple of the False God and some bounce lands to off set the lack of ramp as well. In an odd converted mana cost deck it won't be rare to take turn two off, and so the lands fit right in.

Card draw is another concern when building a Rakdos list, especially with half of the cards in Magic's history cut off from us. I had to include every ounce I could in cards like Faithless Looting , Wheel of Misfortune , and Read the Bones . All of which are pure card draw. I opted to run impulsive draws since we are running ritual cards in this list, and so I chose only the best in cards like Theater of Horrors & Light Up the Stage which work very nicely with vial smasher, Sin Prodder , Bloodgift Demon and Clackbridge Troll represent cards OR big damage with any of our damage manipulators out.

There are a few other Ramp/Draw cards I didn't mention, but it's time to move on the MEAT of the deck - and that's DAMAGE!
Group Slug is the theme that I decided on the second I ripped my Etched Vial Smasher, and so I went all in with cards like Rampaging Ferocidon , Spellshock , Sulfuric Vortex , and Zo-Zu the Punisher . I want everyone to be taking damage all the time, and so these cards will do the heavy lifting on that front. In the top end of the curve we have hasty bois in Cavalier of Flame & Stalking Vengeance as well as cards that interact nicely with jeska or damage doublers in Charging Tuskodon & Crimson Honor Guard , and to top it all off we have Profane Transfusion & Soulfire Eruption to have a wee bit of fun.

As for interaction I opted to run a few pet cards in the list. My favorite thing to do in Magic is probably catching someone off guard with a card or effect they weren't expecting. That's where Red Elemental Blast , Dualcaster Mage , Garna, the Bloodflame , and Mages' Contest come in! These cards all can have a huge impact on the game and also jive well with the chaotic theme of the deck. By Force can punish artifact based ramp early and Tectonic Hellion can punish it late, just to keep everyone on the same page you know. ;)

Well without giving it ALL away , that's the list. The product of a few months of researching any and every card that could possibly make the cut, but I am sure I missed a few and that's where you come in. If you see any way to make the deck more efficient or potent, please chime in below in the comment section. Thanks for checking the list out!

Hope you enjoyed,
Bane
