Overview

This is a combo/control deck. The goal is to lockdown and control the board until I can use a number of different win conditions and combos.

Why Oloro, Ageless Ascetic?

I chose Oloro, Ageless Ascetic for two reasons. Draw and lifegain. Though lifegain isn't a useful ability in itself, it enables me to use a number of other cards to take advantage of it.

Win Conditions and Combos

Since I first started playing magic around Innistrad, I was enamored with the Sanguine Bond+Exquisite Blood.

Infinite Life/Infinite Damage

• Exquisite Blood+Sanguine Bond/Vizkopa Guildmage/Defiant Bloodlord/Cliffhaven Vampire

Doing lots of damage with lifegain

• Sanguine Bond/Vizkopa Guildmage/Defiant Bloodlord/Cliffhaven Vampire

Life total win conditions

• Felidar Sovereign
• Test of Endurance

Why I didn't include some cards in my lifegain deck.

Some people have suggested Boon Reflection/Rhox Faithmender or other similar cards, but I don't play lifegain for the sake of lifegain. I like to take advantage of it. Some examples of this are:

• Karlov of the Ghost Council- which allows for continual removal every few turns.
• Drogskol Reaver- more draw at the beginning of my turn and other events where I gain life.
• Toxic Deluge- I can use this safely with larger values of .

Also any of the above listed cards that deal damage when I gain life.
