The main function of Mishra is to stop counter spells. When you cast a spell, put his ability on the stack. If a spell is countered, it goes to grave before resolving the rest of the stack. Therefore, when you get to the Mishra trigger, if the artifact was countered, you pull it out of your grave with the ability. Sure you can do silly stuff like Arcane Denial your own spell to make your own Cathartic Reunion, but also it helps set off the Junk Diver-Ashnod's Altar-Myr Retriever infinite etb/death combo. If you cast artifacts from an opponent's library, you also get the trigger. So if you Praetor's Grasp their Sol Ring, boo yeah get two Sol Rings.
