I've always liked Zurgo Helmsmasher , but I wanted an angle that had something different to offer. Then I discovered that Zurgo is a warrior! I've always liked warriors as a tribe, but Najeela, the Blade-Blossom is kill-on-sight and generally fairly predictable too.

So this is a Mardu warriors deck, meant to be able to go wide with warriors, answer threats with removal, and still smash people with Zurgo. Of course, you want to run a lot of board wipes in a Zurgo deck, but going wide actually gives Zurgo's last ability extra value with cards like Chandra's Ignition and Arcbond .

In order to protect Zurgo, this deck runs every one-mana "target creature gains protection" spell, as well as Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves . Also, in order to keep all your other warriors, the deck runs Make a Stand and Unbreakable Formation , both of which can also work as mini anthem effects.

Looks fun to me, and it is budget-friendly. Suggestions welcome!
