Sideboard

Maybeboard

Some time ago I made this deck and then I've been playing and changing cards so much that I lost the original list. This here is basically that deck with new cards, and a entire new description.

The idea here is a group hug deck, that uses politics to try to win, or not, just have fun. Works with 3 big strategies: Have Mana, do Politics, then hit them in the face. Simple =D

The deck was built on the idea of drawing many cards so on top of the usual sorceries I've placed some additional land dropers like Growth Spiral or Summer Bloom.

Since huge amounts of mana is a goal, dumping lots on Kamahl's Druidic Vow will mostly be a good thing. Usualy, half of the permanents revealed will go to the board, but the card is better for ramping than changing the game for you.

Smothering Tithe + Folio of Fancies/Minds Aglow/Heartwood Storyteller/Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis/Nin, the Pain Artist/Edric, Spymaster of Trest/Xyris, the Writhing Storm works wonders. And funny.

I put Kruphix, God of Horizons on board in almost every game I play. That's how good this god is. Of course, Victory Chimes is here because of him. Wilderness Reclamation also.

There are some other ramps that I didn't mention, and Yep, thats a lot of ramps, but the deck is very hungry for mana.

First, your defenses. Edric, Spymaster of Trest and Mathas, Fiend Seeker as a external line of defense, to keep your opponents eyes away. Orzhov Advokist is your spy, letting you know who still wants to attack you. Pramikon, Sky Rampart against that annoying aggro. Labyrinth of Skophos and Mystifying Maze to help you gain some time and build the rest of the defenses. It's just that, 4 mana + tap to protect against 1 attacker isn't a great thing, don't relay on it. This is why i chose Vampiric Link among all similar, costs only 1 mana so you won't lose much if it doesn't do what it is supposed to.

Then some tools. The Wanderer, Ashiok, Dream Render, Kunoros, Hound of Athreos and Lavinia, Azorius Renegade are tools against certain decks or strategies, if the situation ask for it, bring them to the board using Sisay's ability. As can be seen, that is a lot of odd cards, many of them can be used in many situations that can be used based on your board. Those are the less political, but now it is all about politics. Kaseto, Orochi Archmage is a odd choice, but remember, the target can be a "friendly" creature attacking a opponent. How nice. Know that time when the board is full of threats and no one wants to drop a boardwipe because there is a lot to lose? Eye of Doom solves your problems. And if you don't like what your "friends" chose, just don't activate it's ability. For those "friends" who aren't cooperating, Pir's Whim, Virtus's Maneuver on them! Or if you have at least one real friend playing, Game Plan, Wishclaw Talisman and Tempt with Discovery and be happy 8D

Since the main objective with this deck is the fun, removals and counterspells are difficult choices. In the end I opted for the only counter valid, Split Decision. Boardwipes, on the other side, is a must since you wanna make the games longer. Not a lot, just enough. Urza's Ruinous Blast of course, Child of Alara is a tutorable quasi-boardwipe, Eye of Doom not exactly wipes the table but is good, and always entering entering/leaving the deck is Nevinyrral's Disk. Of course, since you expect some boardwipe, be prepared with Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero + Saffi Eriksdotter combo, Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate helps too. Marchesa, the Black Rose will help in so little occasions that I will only mention her.

Sneak attack: Sisay, Weatherlight Captain can go up to 7/7 and this decks ensures it can happen somewhat easily. Then you equip her with Blackblade Reforged and she turns in a monster. Then you put Surrak Dragonclaw or Kaseto, Orochi Archmage. Then you shout SNEAK ATTACK!!!

Or the original idea of the deck: You are playing nicely, with some of your legendary creatures on the field doing whatever they do. Then you drop Heroes' Podium and shout SNEAK ATTACK! That's why having lots of mana is necessary, if you can suddenly activate Sisay's ability lets say, 3 times on the same turn, you can bring to the battlefield lets say Surrak Dragonclaw, Marchesa, the Black Rose and Heroes' Podium and attack with every utility creature with trample, bigger power and hard to remove. Yeah, not gonna happen enough since it's hard, but then again, it's fun.

Other good (maybe better?) wincons exists and you can put them if you like. Those passed through this deck but I found to not be funny for me: Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, Psychosis Crawler and Debt to the Deathless (well this was fun but hard as heck).
