Maybeboard

This is a typical mono-green stompy deck that is themed around Beasts with Selvala, Heart of the Wilds at the helm. Beasts are one of MTG's oldest tribes, they have interesting support options and plenty of green cards generate Beast tokens. Beasts are the embodiment of the stompy archetype. Craterhoof Behemoth is considered one of the best green cards because it can win games, most importantly it's a Beast. Mono-green Selvala is the commander because she can potentially draw the deck cards if we have the largest creature entering the battlefield. There may be issues with the first ability in this build since we aren't running optimal low-cost creatures with high attack. I tend to stick close to the theme as much as possible and there are a lot of edits we can still make. The deck mostly utilizes Selvala's second ability to generate mana equal to our largest creature's power. That mana generating ability is the cornerstone of the deck and it can advance our board state or blow-out our opponents.
Selvala, Heart of the Wilds is the best ramper in the deck. Combine with mutate creatures like Sawtusk Demolisher or Auspicious Starrix and you can generate 5 mana on potentially turn 3 or at worst turn 4. Cost-reduction cards like Emerald Medallion, Herald's Horn, and Krosan Warchief are great when we want to optimally use our mana. For example, being able to mutate Sawthooth Demolisher for 2 mana is really good. Which nets us more mana with Selvala and blows up a non-creature permanent.

  • Emerald Medallion
  • Nyx Lotus
  • Nkythos, Shrine to Nyx
  • Herald's Horn
There will be times where we can't solely rely on our commander to draw us cards so to keep the deck running we run around 8 cards that have the ability to draw in the text. Cards like Vivien, Monsters' Advocate, Vivien, Champion of the Wilds, and Mosswort Bridge are pseudo draw effects can dig our deck for cards we could use.
Green isn't really good at wiping the board, but we need to be able to protect our stuff. There are roughly seven cards that protect our stuff from removal. Akroma's Memorial Asceticism are the best cards to protect our creatures, Asceticism is good for wrath effects that don't exile, and Akroma's Memorial gives protection from Rakdos colors and also gives a bunch of relevant keywords. Heroic Intervention and Blossoming Defense provide instant hexproof when needed. Krosan Warchief and Spearbreaker Behemoth are great against board wipes that destroy creatures or when we want a creature to survive combat like Elder Gargaroth
Elder Gargaroth : a great creature for both offense and defense, provides us with card advantage and bodies Ezuri's Predation : a weird board wipe that can yeet creatures with power smaller than 4. It has the potential to create a sizable army of beasts for each creature our opponents' control. A funny interaction is Elder Gargaroth and Garruk's Uprising Other notable token makers include:
