It was a dark and stormy Halloween night in Theros, Desecration Demons flew through the sky, and Lifebane Zombies went door-to-door looking for candy, or just an unassuming human's brains. Everyone was going to the Gray Merchant of Asphodel 's party at Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. He had used his Underworld Connections to get a Crypt Ghast to tend an open bar, although they said the prices were extortion and the punch could be a Hero's Downfall if they weren't careful. Meanwhile, his neighbor, a Shadowborn Demon who lived down the street, was overseeing games of whack-the- Pack Rat, handing out a Whip of Erebos and Doom Blades that he had rented while DJ Lord of the Void kept the beats pumping with the newest tracks from the album ''moans of pain'' by Fitz and the Tortures. The party continued until dawn, when finally the partygoers made the long trek back across the Swamp to their homes. As the demon and merchant got to work cleaning up the beer, brains and blood, Erebos, God of the Dead declared: ''Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good fright!
