A different take on Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck. It's the first competitive EDH deck that I've build and one I would take out when I want to be a bit mean. Over the years I've kept improving the list. This is the result so far.

There are many variants of Nekusar decks. I would categorise them as:

1. Whether they run infinite combo or not (ex. Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity)

2. Whether they use infect or not

3. Do they prefer card-draws for all or for the opponents only (This mainly decides whether you play Phyrexian Tyranny , Spiteful Visions, Waste Not,Psychosis Crawler, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Curiosity, Helm of the Ghastlord , Consecrated Sphinx, etc...)

For this deck, the answer is NO for the first two. Personally, I think infinite combo ruins the game, while infect is too cheap. And it's a waste of resources when you try to do both life loss and poisons. Choose one if you have to and stick with it for the sake of efficiency.

For the last categorisation, while most decks on this site are the "cards for all, even more for me" type, this deck runs Phyrexian Tyranny and Spiteful Visions and focus on opponents card-draws. Running these two makes the deck more efficient at reducing life, even though it means hurting yourself. To be even more efficient, Havoc Festival and Sulfuric Vortex are added, which also prevents life-gains, the nemesis of the type of deck (similar to Purphoros, God of the Forge). To demonstrate:

1. A turn 3 Phyrexian Tyranny followed by a turn 4 Teferi's Puzzle Box makes people shit their pants. Forced Fruition also does the job.

2. With ramp, a turn 4 Havoc Festival then a turn 5 Spiteful Visions or its likes ends the game quick.

Because of the suicidal nature of this deck, granting your opponents too much free draws is dangerous. Therefore cards like Kami of the Crescent Moon, Minds Aglow , Dictate of Kruphix, etc are omitted. Instead, Reforge the Soul, Wheel and Deal, and Magus of the Wheel are used to refill the hands when the time is right. Mystical Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Insidious Dreams can trigger Reforge the Soul's miracle. And Temple Bell, Otherworld Atlas , and Commander's Sphere makes it an instant wheel.

The strategy is to lower your opponents' life as much as possible in the early game, keep off attacks with fort and disrupt their game with removals, then kill off everyone with wheels in a single turn or two. This play makes Molten Psyche the MVP of this deck. Stack it up with other wheel effects in the same turn to deal massive damage. To do this, all the wheels have to be as efficient as possible. The likes of Incendiary Command and Dragon Mage don't make it to the list.

The rest are typical wheels, ramps, and removals you would see in most Nekusar decks, so I would spare you the details.

Some other tiny interesting things I would like to mention:

1. Play Cyclonic Rift or Sunder before you wheel for game-ending result

2. Besides keeping off early attacks, Drift of Phantasms can be transmuted for Phyrexian Tyranny , Windfall, Megrim, Jace's Archivist, Magus of the Wheel, and Molten Psyche.

3. This deck runs many artifacts to help enable Molten Psyche's metalcraft. So the artifact lands.

4. Tolaria West can be transmuted for Pact of Negation or Glacial Chasm.

Feel free to comment or suggest anything. But for cards that are obviously good for this deck but too expensive (like Force of Will or Time Spiral), you can just leave them out. Not planning to raise my budget for the game in the near future.
