Maybeboard

Hey y’all, this is my take on Grenzo, Havoc Raiser inspured heavily by the decklist Grenzo - Beats by Gre (Thanks for the inspiration!), but with a focus on goblins.

I love that a lot of cheap goblins have very interesting abilities that can supplement this creature heavy deck with added utility. Goblin Cratermaker is an amazing piece of removal, as is Goblin Vandal and even Fanatical Firebrand in certain situations - and when he isn’t? He’s a hasty 1/1!

I struggled in early iterations with ramp and staying ahead of decks that get more and more big threats out. Brightstone Ritual , Battle Hymn , and Koth of the Hammer help a lot. Some of the few non-goblin creatures, Goldspan Dragon , and Oblivion Sower , also make a huge difference.

Goldspan Dragon specifically really amplifies cards like Shiny Impetus , and Brass's Bounty . Both are already really good ramp cards (and goad is invaluable in impetus’ case), but with ol goldie out? They get absurd.

I found that cards like Bedlam that prevent blocking entirely end up being a non-bo with other great cards like Heat Stroke , Invasion Plans , and Raging River . The latter being, quite frankly, my favorite card in magic. Thus I decided to veer away from these cards.

Other all stars in the deck are:

Vicious Shadows - this card is absurd. I’ve straight up won games using Dark-Dweller Oracle or Skullclamp as sac outlets to take people down when playing Grenzo again is no longer an option.

Berserkers' Onslaught - double strike is absolutely invaluable as it get’s you double Grenzo triggers. I’m always trying to find a spot for Rage Reflection but just haven’t gotten there yet.

Breath of Fury - I’m currently not running this because I’m avoiding going infinite, but it is absolutely a game winner. As long as you can get through, you win. Running this may be reason enough to add in more unblockable effects.

Impact Tremors \ Purphoros, God of the Forge - while I own both of these, I’m hesitant to add them in because then I may as well just be running Purphoros as my commander. I want to stick to the game plan of manipulating the board via combat. These are both beasts in this deck though, for sure.

Thanks for checking out my deck. I look forward to any ideas, input or advice.
